The NBA is the most popular Basketball League in the world. It has a rich history and has been around since 1946. But it wasn’t until 1992 that the NBA was able to fully monetize its product. That year, Nike signed a $500 million deal with the league to design uniforms for all 30 teams. The NBA’s revenue grew from $300 million in 1991 to $1 billion by 1996.

Michael Jordan

Hakeem Olajuwon

In the 1990s, there were many great basketball players Among them was Hakeem Olajuwon.

Olajuwon was born in Nigeria in 1963. He did not start playing basketball until he was 15 years old. Nevertheless, he quickly became one of the best players in the world. In 1984, he was the number one overall pick in the NBA draft He went on to have a stellar career with the Houston Rockets winning two NBA championships and being named the NBA Finals MVP both times. He was also named the NBA MVP in 1994 and was a 12-time All-Star. On top of all that, he is considered one of the best Defensive Players in NBA history He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008.

Olajuwon is often considered one of the best players of all time. Certainly, he is one of the greatest players of the 1990s.

Tim Duncan

Tim Duncan, who played for the San Antonio Spurs, was one of the best players of the 1990s. A Power Forward he was known for his defense and rebounding. He was named to the All-NBA First Team 10 times and was named Defensive Player of the Year twice.

Kevin Garnett

One of the most intriguing and polarizing players of his generation, Kevin Garnett was a larger-than-life figure who changed the way basketball was played. A physical specimen with unparalleled intensity, Garnett was the rare player who could impact the game on both ends of the floor. He also possessed a level of trash-talking creativity that has yet to be matched.

Garnett was drafted out of High School by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1995, and he promptly became one of the best players in the league. He was named an All-Star in his second season, and he won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award In 2004, he led the Wolves to their first playoff appearance in over a decade.

Garnett was traded to the Boston Celtics in 2007, and he helped lead them to an NBA Championship in 2008. He was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year that same season. In 2009, he was named to the All-NBA First Team for a fourth time.

Garnett retired from basketball in 2016 after 21 seasons in the league. He is currently sixth all-time in NBA history in career points and seventh all-time in career rebounds.

Dirk Nowitzki

Dirk Nowitzki (born June 19, 1978) is a German former Professional Basketball player. An alumnus of the University of Wisconsin, Nowitzki was selected as the ninth pick in the 1998 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks and traded to the Dallas Mavericks where he played his entire 21-season career. The 7-foot-3 (2.21 m) power forward played 19 seasons with the Mavericks, setting numerous franchise records, before retiring in 2019. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest Power Forwards of all time. A 12-time All-Star, Nowitzki was named the NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2007 and the NBA Finals MVP in 2011. He is a first cousin once removed of fellow retired German player Detlef Schrempf.

In international play, Nowitzki led the German national basketball team to a bronze medal at EuroBasket 2005 and silver at EuroBasket 2009. He was named to the 50 Greatest EuroLeague Contributors list and was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2017. He is one of only seven players who have amassed over 30,000 points and 10,000 rebounds in their NBA careers

Paul Pierce

Paul Pierce is a retired American professional basketball player He played 18 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was a small forward and shooting guard Pierce was a ten-time NBA All-Star and named the 2008 NBA Finals MVP. He led the Celtics to the 2008 NBA Championship and was named that year’s NBA Championship series MVP. Pierce is one of four players, alongside Larry Bird Magic Johnson and Jerry West to have been named Finals MVP with three different teams.

Ray Allen

Ray Allen is one of the best Shooting Guards of all time. He’s a 10-time NBA All-Star a two-time champion, and the league’s all-time leader in 3-point field goals made.

Allen was born in Castle Shannon, Pennsylvania, and played college basketball at the University of Connecticut He was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the fifth overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft but was immediately traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for Stephon Marbury.

Allen spent his first six seasons with the Bucks before being traded to the Seattle SuperSonics in 2003. He helped lead the Sonics to their first ever NBA Finals appearance in 2005, but they lost to the eventual champion San Antonio Spurs in seven games.

In 2007, Allen was traded to the Boston Celtics in a blockbuster deal that also brought fellow All-Star Kevin Garnett to Boston. The “Big Three” of Allen, Garnett, and Paul Pierce led the Celtics to their seventeenth NBA title in 2008, defeating the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.

After nine seasons with the Celtics, Allen signed with the Miami Heat in 2012. He once again teamed up with Lebron James and Dwyane Wade as they won back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013. Allen’s clutch 3-pointer in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals is widely considered one of the greatest shots in NBA history

Allen retired from basketball after the 2016 season. He averaged 18.9 points per game over his career and is currently sixth on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Kyam Anthony (born May 29, 1984) is an American professional basketball player who is currently a free agent He played college basketball for one season with the Syracuse Orange winning a National Championship before being drafted as the third overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft by the Denver Nuggets While playing for Denver, Anthony became one of the youngest players ever to win an NBA Scoring Title in 200607, with his average of 28.9 points per game In 2009, he was traded to the New York Knicks in a three-team Blockbuster Trade involving the Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves
