All-Star Game

The All-Star Game is an annual exhibition game played by the best players in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The game was first played in 1951, and has been held every year since. The All-Star Game is normally played on the weekend in February, and is televised nationally.

All-NBA Teams

The All-NBA team is an annual National Basketball Association (NBA) honor bestowed on the best players in the league following every NBA season The voting is conducted by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada, each of whom casts a vote for first to fifth place selections for the three All-NBA teams The five players with the highest point total make the first team, with the next five making the second team and so forth. In 2012, Kobe Bryant became the first player in NBA history to be voted onto an All-NBA team in every season while playing with only one team.

In 2022, there will be 33 All-Stars set to take the court in Cleveland including: Lebron James (Cavaliers), Stephen Curry (Warriors), Kevin Durant (Nets), James Harden (Rockets), Anthony Davis (Lakers), Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks), Damian Lillard (Blazers), Joel Embiid (Sixers), Russell Westbrook (Wizards), Kyrie Irving (Knicks), Bradley Beal (Wizards), Kawhi Leonard (Clippers), Devin Booker (Suns), Zion Williamson (Pelicans), Rudy Gobert Jazz), Donovan Mitchell Jazz), Paul George Clippers).

Most Valuable Player

The National Basketball Association (NBA) Most Valuable Player Award is an annual award given since the 1955–56 season to the best performing player of the regular season The winner receives the Maurice Podoloff Trophy, which is named in honor of the first commissioner (then president) of the NBA, who served from 1946 until his retirement in 1963. Rookie of the Year

Rookie of the Year will be voted on by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada. These media members will be asked to select their top five choices for the award, with points awarded on a 5-3-1 scale. The player with the most total points will be crowned the winner.

Sixth Man of the Year

The National Basketball Association (NBA) sixth man of the Year is an annual National Basketball Association (NBA) award given to the league’s best performing player for his team coming off the bench as a substitute.

In order to be eligible for the award, a player must come off the bench in more games than he starts. The award was first given out at the end of the 1982–83 season, when Michael Cooper of the Los Angeles Lakers was the inaugural recipient. jamal crawford currently holds the record for winning the award three times.

The voting for this award is conducted by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada, each of whom casts a vote for first, second and third place selections. Each first-place vote is worth five points, each second-place vote is worth three points, and each third-place vote is worth one point. The player with the highest point total, regardless of the number of first-place votes, wins the award.

Most Improved Player

The Most Improved Player (MIP) is an annual National Basketball Association (NBA) award given to the player who is deemed to have shown the most progress during the Regular Season The winner is selected by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada, each of whom casts a vote for first, second and third place selections. Each first-place vote is worth five points, each second-place vote is worth three points, and each third-place vote is worth one point. The player with the highest point total, regardless of the number of first-place votes, wins the award.

Coach of the Year

The Coach of the Year is an annual National Basketball Association (NBA) award given since the 1962–63 NBA season The winner receives the Red Auerbach Trophy, which is named in honor of the Head Coach who led the Boston Celtics to nine NBA championships from 1956 to 1966. The recipient is selected by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada, each of whom casts a vote for first, second and third place selections. Each first-place vote is worth five points, each second-place vote is worth three points, and each third-place vote is worth one point. The person with the highest point total, regardless of the number of first-place votes, wins the award.

In recent years voting for Coach of the Year has been close; in 2016, Mike D’Antoni narrowly defeated Gregg Popovich for the honor by just four points. Bill Russell has won the award a record five times. Tom Heinsohn, Pat Riley and Don Nelson have all won it four times apiece; while Cotton Fitzsimmons, Gene Shue and Hubie Brown have all won it three times apiece. Jerry Sloan (twice), Del Harris (twice), Byron Scott (twice), George Karl (twice), Doc Rivers (twice), Flip Saunders (twice) and Quin Snyder are all multiple-time winners as well.

Executive of the Year

This award is given to the NBA General Manager who is deemed to have made the most positive impact on his team’s performance during the season. The executive of the Year Award was first given out in 1974, and has been given out annually since then.

There have been a number of great executives in NBA history but a few have really stood out. Here are a few of the most notable winners of the award:

All-Rookie Teams

The All-Rookie teams are selected by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters who cover the NBA. The teams were first introduced in the 1952-1953 season. There are two All-Rookie teams, one for each conference, each consisting of five players.

The teams are selected based on their performance during the regular season To be eligible for selection to an All-Rookie Team a player must not have played more than 25 games in any previous NBA seasons
