In his rookie season with Washington, Beal averaged 13.9 points per game (ppg) and 3.8 assists per game (apg). He then improved his scoring average to 17.1 ppg in his second season and was selected for his first NBA All-Star Game appearance. Beal has since developed into one of the best shooting guards in the NBA, averaging 22 points per game since 2016–17 while being named to the All-NBA Third Team twice (in 2018 and 2019).

He’s also one of only two players (along with Kevin Durant) to score 1,700 or more points in their first two seasons.

Beal has set numerous franchise records for the Wizards, including most points scored in a game (53), most three-pointers made in a game (9), and most Free throws made in a game (24). He’s also the only player in team history to record multiple 50-Point Games
