Marks Madsen is an American former professional basketball player and current coach. He played college basketball for the Stanford Cardinal and was an All-Pac-10 first team selection his senior year. He went undrafted in the 2000 NBA draft but was later signed by the Los Angeles Lakers. He was a member of the Lakers’ teams that won NBA championships in 2000, 2001, and 2002. After his playing career ended, Madsen became a coach and is currently an Assistant Coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA.
Madsen was born in Danville, California, and grew up in Southern California His parents are both Danish immigrants. Madsen attended High School in Alpine, Utah, and then went on to college at Stanford University He was a four-year starter for the Cardinal basketball team and was named to the All-Pac-10 first team his senior year.
Madsen went undrafted in the 2000 NBA Draft but was later signed by the Los Angeles Lakers He made his Nba Debut during the 2000-01 season, and went on to play three seasons for the Lakers. The 2007-08 season was another solid one for Madsen, as he averaged 6.6 points and 4.9 rebounds in 26.4 minutes per game while starting all 82 games for Minnesota once again. The Timberwolves reached the playoffs for the second straight year, but were once again defeated by the eventual champion Los Angeles Lakers in the first round.
After spending eight seasons with the Timberwolves, Madsen signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers prior to the start of the 2008-09 season. He appeared in just 14 games for Cleveland before being waived midway through the year, and he would not play in another NBA game after that point in his career.

Madsen appeared in two NBA Finals with the Lakers, winning championships in 2000 and 2001.
