UCF Baseball: A Quick Overview
The UCF baseball team is currently in the process of wrapping up their season. Here is a quick overview of their statistics so far.
The Knights have played 60 games so far this season and have a record of 33-27. They have scored 279 runs and have allowed 251 runs to be scored against them. They have hit 50 home runs and stolen 51 bases.
Their pitchers have done well overall, with a team ERA of 3.52. The Knights have given up 10 or more hits in a game six times this season, but they have only given up 10 or more runs three times.
UCF has had some key contributors this season offensively and defensively. Dylan Moore is leading the team in batting average (.324), home runs (8), and RBIs (37). On the pitching side, Joe Sheridan has been UCF’s best starter, going 6-4 with a 3.20 ERA in 14 starts.

UCF’s Baseball Team has had a great season so far, with an impressive 35-19 record. The team’s pitchers have done a great job of striking batters out, with 399 so far on the season. This is the 5th most in the conference.

Pitching Staff
The pitching staff for the UCF Knights is one of the best in The American Athletic Conference They have a 3.64 ERA and have only given up 232 runs so far this season. Their opponents are only hitting .243 against them.
Hitting Statistics
The University of Central Florida baseball team has some impressive hitting statistics this season. As of May 9th, the team is batting a combined .276, which is good for 4th in the American Athletic Conference They also have an on-base percentage of .347, which is 5th in the conference. The Knights have slugged 41 Home Runs so far this season, which is tied for 2nd in the AAC.
Some of the individual standouts for UCF include junior infielder Matthew Mika, who is batting .325 with 4 home runs and 27 RBI. Sophomore outfielder Luke Hamblin is also having a good season, batting .302 with 5 home runs and 23 RBI. On the pitching side, junior right-hander Robby Howell has been excellent, posting a 2.25 ERA and striking out 80 batters in 72 innings pitched

As a team, UCF has a .972 Fielding percentage This places them at second in The American Athletic Conference and thirtieth in all of Division I Baseball Their sixty-seven errors on the season are also second in The American Athletic Conference and their 1,233 putouts are first.
Chris Williams leads the team with a 1.000 fielding percentage. He has had ninety-six putouts and four assists in ninety-seven chances. Luke Hamblin is close behind him with a .996 fielding percentage. He has had two hundred and sixty putouts and nine assists in two hundred and seventy-one chances.
Mario Sanjur leads the team in assists with one hundred and forty-two. He also has two hundred and fifty-six putouts for a total of three hundred and ninety-eight chances. Alec Saikal is right behind him with one hundred and thirty-six assists and eighty-nine putouts for a total of two hundred and twenty-five chances.
The Team’s Schedule
The UCF baseball team has had an exciting season so far and there is still time to catch them in action. Here is a look at their schedule for the remainder of the season.
The team’s next Home game is against Memphis on April 7th. They will then hit the road for a three-game series against conference rival Houston. After that, they will return home for a six-game homestand, which includes games against USF, ECU, and Tulane.

Game Highlights
The UCF baseball team has had an incredible season and is currently ranked No. 22 in the nation. The team’s success is due in large part to the impressive statistics of some of its Key Players Here are some notable stats from this season:
SLG%: Senior third baseman Rylan Thomas leads the team with a .731 Slugging percentage He also has 13 home runs 50 RBIs and a .321 batting average
OBP: Senior outfielder Luke Hamblin has a remarkable .484 on-base percentage thanks to his 42 walks and only 19 strikeouts. He also has five home runs and 31 RBIs.
ERA: Freshman pitcher Robby Howell has been phenomenal on the mound, posting a 2.28 ERA in 15 appearances (11 starts). He has struck out 78 batters in 77 innings pitched.
UCF Baseball in the News
The University of Central Florida Knights are a Division I college baseball team in the American Athletic Conference representing the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. The team is currently coached by Greg Lovelady. They play their home games at Jay Bergman Field on the university’s main campus.
The Knights have appeared in five NCAA Tournaments and reached the Super Regionals once. They have also won five conference tournament championships and six regular season conference championships Their most recent appearance in the NCAA tournament was in 2016.
As of May 27, 2017, the UCF Baseball Team is ranked #1 in the American Athletic Conference with a record of 44-12 (21-3 in conference play). They have clinched the Regular Season conference championship and are currently ranked #17 in the nation by Baseball America

UCF Baseball is set to have one of its best seasons yet and diehard fans are elated. The Knights have a 37-17 record and are currently ranked 25th in the nation according to the USA Today Coaches poll. Head Coach Greg Lovelady has done an excellent job leading the team and has instilled a winning mentality in his players.
The team’s success is due in part to its strong social media presence. The UCF Baseball Twitter account (@UCF_Baseball) has over 8,000 followers and regularly posts game highlights, player interviews, and behind-the-scenes photos. The account also interacts with fans on a daily basis, which has helped create a strong sense of community among Knights supporters.
