Baca will be joined by a solid group of Position players including All-RMAC selections Matt Burkart and Tanner Murphy.

The Grizzlies have seen an increase in their win total in each of the last three seasons, culminating in a 26-22 record and a trip to the Rocky Mountain Athletic conference tournament in 2019. Under head coach Mike Kunigonis, the team has made great strides, both on and off the field.

On the field, the Grizzlies have been led by a core group of talented players. Infielder Ryan Riselay was named RMAC Player of the Year in 2019 after hitting .377 with 11 home runs and 48 RBIs. Outfielder Xavier Nunneley was also named to the All-RMAC first team after hitting .360 with eight home runs and 40 RBIs. Pitching has also been a strength for Adams State, as the team finished second in the RMAC in ERA last season.

Off the field, Coach Kunigonis has instilled a culture of excellence within the program. The team maintains a high GPA and is active within the community. In 2019, Adams State hosted its first-ever Baseball Camp for underprivileged youth in Alamosa. The team also volunteers with local food banks and shelters on a regular basis.
