Alvernia Baseball’s Schedule
Spring is almost here, which means it’s time for Alvernia Baseball’s schedule.
The team will start their season on February 22 with a Home game against Clark University.
They will play a total of 34 games this season, including 16 at home.
Some of their opponents will be Kutztown University, Shippensburg University and East Stroudsburg University

Infielder Brandon Wiechelt is a two-time all-conference selection who led Alvernia in batting average (.349), home runs (6) and RBIs (29) in 2017. Wiechelt was also drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2016.
Outfielder Jared Melone is a two-time all-conference selection who led Alvernia in stolen bases (19) and runs scored (43) in 2017.

Alvernia Baseball’s Future
Since the program’s inception in 2006, Alvernia baseball has seen a rise in both its win total and the level of competition it has faced. The team has compiled a record of 247-168 over the last nine seasons, reaching the conference tournament six times. In 2015, the team finished with a 29-15 overall record and made it to the conference tournament semifinals. 2016 was another successful season for the Golden Wolves, as they went 28-18 and made it to the Conference Tournament Championship game
2017 was a banner year for Alvernia baseball. The team set a new program record with 30 wins, finishing the year with a 30-17 overall record. The team also made it to the conference tournament Championship game for the second straight year, but this time they were able to come away with a victory, defeating Millersville 8-0 to claim the program’s first ever conference championship.
