Under the leadership of head coach Glenn Cecchini, the team has experienced success at both the high school and collegiate levels. In addition to winning the State Championship Barbe has produced numerous Major League Baseball players, including All-Stars Anthony Rizzo and Brad Ziegler.

How Barbe Baseball built a championship team
It takes more than just good players to build a championship team. It takes dedication, commitment, and most importantly, a Good Coach Bart Barbe has been coaching the Barbe baseball team for the last ten years and has finally led them to victory. Under his leadership, the team has won the Louisiana state championships three times in a row.
Bart started coaching at Barbe high school in 2010. At that time, the team was not very successful. They had only won two state championships in their history and had not made it to the playoffs in over five years. Bart knew that he had to turn things around if the team was going to be successful.
He started by making sure that all of his players were committed to the team. He required them to attend all practices and games, and made sure that they were taking care of their academics. He also worked on their skills, making sure that they knew how to hit, throw, and catch well.
Under Bart’s leadership, the team slowly started to improve. They made it to the playoffs in 2011 and 2012, but lost in the first round both times. In 2013, they finally broke through and won their first state championship under Bart’s leadership. They won again in 2014 and 2015, making it three in a row.
Bart’s success is due to his dedication to his players and his commitment to winning. He has taken a team that was struggling and turned them into champions.
The making of a champion: Barbe Baseball’s journey to the state title
It was a journey that took them through the ups and downs of a long season, but in the end, the Barbe baseball team came out on top as state champions.

It was a total team effort that saw contributions from every player on the roster, but a few Key Players stood out throughout the season.
Leadoff hitter Brandon Bielak did an excellent job of getting on base and setting the table for the team’s big hitters. Outfielder Nick Dunn was a menace on defense and also provided some timely hitting when needed. And finally, pitcher Trenton Simpson was virtually unhittable all season long en route to being named Most Outstanding Player of the tournament.
The team’s hard work and dedication paid off in a big way, as they brought home Barbe’s first state Baseball Championship in school history.
