A Baseball Couple’s Journey to the Major Leagues

A Baseball Couple’s Journey to the Major Leagues is a blog about a husband and wife who both have a passion for the Game of Baseball They share their experiences of being minor League Baseball players, coaches, and fans.

How they met

Manny and Keely met in college, where they were both student-athletes. Manny was a pitcher on the baseball team and Keely was a catcher on the softball team They initially met through mutual friends, but they really hit it off when they started working out together.

Manny and Keely dated for a few years before they got married. They both had professional aspirations and decided to pursue them together. They worked hard to develop their respective skills, with Manny focusing on pitching and Keely focusing on hitting (she switched from catcher to infielder).

After several years of minor league ball, Manny and Keely finally made it to the Major Leagues They now play for the same team, which is a dream come true for them both.

They are happy to be living their dream, but they are also very aware of the challenges that come with being a Professional Athlete They have to work hard to maintain their performance levels, and they have to deal with the pressures that come with being in the spotlight. But at the end of the day, they know that they are lucky to be living their dream and that they have each other to lean on.

Their love for baseball

Amy and Alex met while playing baseball in college. They both had a strong love for the sport and they quickly fell in love with each other. After college, they got married and decided to pursue their dream of playing baseball together.

They both worked hard to improve their skills and they eventually caught the attention of some Major League scouts. In 2016, they were both drafted by the same MLB team! They made their Major League debut together and they continue to play for the same team today.

They are truly a unique couple because they share a passion for baseball and they have been able to live out their dreams together.

Training and practice

Training and practice are important for any couple looking to achieve their dream of playing Major League Baseball For one couple, that meant living and breathing baseball 24/7. They ate, slept, and drank baseball. And when they weren’t playing the game, they were watching film or working out to improve their skills.

The husband played catch with his wife in the backyard and hit her hundreds of ground balls in the basement. The wife worked on her batting stance and hitting in the driveway. They both ran sprints and lifted weights together to stay in shape

It was a lot of work, but it paid off. The couple was eventually drafted by MLB teams and now they are living their dream of playing professional baseball

Getting drafted

For most aspiring professional baseball players the path to the majors is a long and winding one. But for husband and wife duo Braden and Amanda Hale, that path was a little shorter – though no less challenging.

The Hales were both drafted by Major League Baseball teams in 2017, Braden by the Boston Red Sox and Amanda by the Seattle Mariners It was a dream come true for the couple, who had met while playing college ball at the University of Arizona

“It was definitely a surreal experience,” Braden said of getting drafted. “I think we both kind of froze up when we got the news.”

“It still doesn’t feel real, to be honest,” Amanda said. “Every time I put on my Mariners jersey, I have to remind myself that this is really happening.”

The Hales are believed to be the first married couple to be drafted by MLB teams in the same year. And while they’re excited to begin their professional careers, they know it won’t be easy.

“There’s a lot of pressure that comes with being drafted,” Braden said. “You have to perform at a high level or you could get released.”

“Getting traded is always a possibility, too,” Amanda added. “But we’re just going to take it one day at a time and enjoy every moment.”

The minor leagues

The minor leagues are professional baseball’s training ground, where players hone their skills in hopes of one day making it to the Major Leagues For many players, the journey to the majors is a long and difficult one, filled with long bus rides, small towns, and little pay.

For some players, however, the minor leagues can be a stopping point on their way to the major leagues Such is the case for husband and wife duo Mike and Jami Trageser.

Mike Trageser is a pitcher in the San Francisco Giants organization, while Jami Trageser is an infielder in the Oakland Athletics organization. The two met while playing in the minor leagues and have since been married for four years.

While neither Mike nor Jami has made it to the Major Leagues yet, they continue to chase their dream of one day playing together in the big leagues

Getting called up to the majors

For most minor leaguers, getting called up to the majors is the stuff of dreams. But for husband and wife Minor League ballplayers Blake and Miranda Bivens, that dream became a reality earlier this season.

The Bivens met while playing college baseball and they have been playing professionally for the last six years. They have spent time in the minors with the Baltimore Orioles Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox organizations. But in early August, they were both called up to the Major Leagues by the Red Sox

It has been a whirlwind few weeks for the couple, but they are loving every minute of it. “It’s been a dream come true,” Miranda said in an interview with MLB.com. “We’ve worked so hard to get here.”

“We’re just trying to take it all in and enjoy every moment,” Blake added. “It’s been a lot of fun.”

The Bivens are believed to be only the second married couple to play Professional Baseball at the same time. The other couple was Major League players Mike and Amy Kreevich, who played together briefly in 2001 with the Chicago White Sox

Their first game

Allison and Clay were two minor league baseball players with a shared dream of making it to the majors. They met while playing for the Single-A San Jose Giants, and they got married just before spring training the following year.

Clay was called up to the majors first, and he made his debut with the San Francisco Giants in September of 2001. Allison continued to play in the minors, but she finally got her call-up in 2002. The couple became the first husband and wife to both play major league baseball

They played their first game together on September 14, 2002, against the Los Angeles Dodgers It was a momentous occasion not just for the couple, but for baseball fans everywhere.

Adjusting to life in the majors

Like many ballplayers, Mike and Katie had to make a number of adjustments upon their call up to the majors. The most significant adjustment was the drastic increase in media attention. In the minors, they were treated like celebrities in their home towns, but
in the majors, they were treated like celebrities on a national stage. Even though they had experience dealing with the media from their time in college, it was still a big adjustment. They also had to get used to living out of a suitcase for half the year and constantly being on the road.

The future

In the future, we hope to see more baseball couples achieve their dreams of playing in the major leagues We also hope to continue to inspire other couples who share a love for the game.

Conclusion

The Cutters have definitely made a name for themselves in the minor leagues, and their hard work has paid off. They’ve represented their country in the World Baseball Classic and now they’re both able to achieve their dream of playing in the Major Leagues It’s been a long journey, but it’s been worth it every step of the way.
