The Bowling Green Falcons men’s basketball team has had many successful players over the years. In this article, we will be taking a look at the top 10 Bowling Green basketball players of the 2000s.
1. Nate Johnson: Nate Johnson was a key player on the Falcons team that made it to the NCAA tournament in 2004. He was a great shooter and could score from anywhere on the court.
2. Rodney Monroe: Monroe is the All-time leading scorer in Bowling Green history. He was a great scorer and was named first team All-MAC three times.
3. Anthony Stacey: Stacey was another key player on the 2004 NCAA Tournament team. He was known for his defense and athleticism.
4. Theron Smith: Smith was a versatile player who could play both inside and outside. He was named MAC Player of the Year in 2002 and helped lead the Falcons to the NCAA tournament that year.
5. Jaret Von Rosenberg: Von Rosenberg was a 7-footer who played for the Falcons from 2001-2005. He was a very good shot blocker and rebounder.
6.. Pervis Ellison: Ellison only played one season for Bowling Green, but he made a big impact. He was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year and led the team in rebounding with 8 per game.
7.. Jerry McKee: McKee was known for his Three-point shooting ability. He is second all-time in three pointers made in Bowling Green history with 201.
8.. Bo Westervelt: Westervelt was another excellent three-point shooter in his time at Bowling Green. He is third all-time in three pointers made with 195.
9.. Wes Bohn: Bohn played point guard for Bowling Green from 2001-2005 and is fourth all-time in assists with 461.
10.. Scott Thomas: Thomas rounds out our list at number 10. He played Power Forward forBowling green from 1999-2003 and is fifth all-time in blocks with 154.”

The 1990s were a golden age for Bowling Green Basketball The decade saw the program win its first and only NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship as well as produce some of the best players in school history.
In no particular order, here are the top 10 Bowling Green basketball players of the 1990s:
1. Anthony Iroh – A 6’9” forward from London, Iroh was a key player on the Falcons’ NCAA championship team, averaging 8.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game during the tournament. He would go on to play professionally in Europe for many years.
2. Darryl Jackson – A 6’5” guard from Detroit, Jackson was a two-time All-Mid-American Conference selection and is one of only four players in school history to score 1,700 points and dish out 400 assists. Jackson currently serves as an Assistant Coach at his alma mater.
3. Willie White – A 6’7” forward from Chicago, White was a member of Bowling Green’s famed “BMW Lineup” (along with Jackson and Iroh) that led the Falcons to the NCAA title game in 1992. He averaged 10.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game during his career at BGSU.
4. Gerald Ramsey – A 6’4” guard from Lima, Ohio, Ramsey was a two-time All-MAC selection and is one of only six players in school history to score 1,600 points and dish out 400 assists. He is currently an assistant coach at Kent State University.
5.-8.: DaShawnMitchell; Sedric Webber; Antwon Lillard; Greg Simpson – These four talented players made up the core of Bowling Green’s back-to-back MAC Championship teams in 1997 and 1998 and helped lead the Falcons to four consecutive NCAA tournament appearances (1997-2000). They were all key contributors during their time at BGSU and helped set the stage for future success under Head Coach Dan Dakich.
9.-10.: Keith Mitchell; Scott Thomas – These two high-scoring forwards rounded out the top 10 list. Mitchell averaged 17 points per game during his career at BGSU while Thomas finished his time as a Falcon with 1,490 career points, good for ninth all-time in school history
