The American League of Major League Baseball (MLB) is one of two leagues that make up MLB, the other being the National League Each league is further divided into three divisions: East, Central, and West.

National League

In Major League Baseball (MLB), the National League (NL) is one of two leagues that make up the Major League the other being the American League Unlike the American League which has fifteen teams, there are only sixteen teams in the National League

The National League is made up of two divisions: the East division and the West division. Each division has eight teams. The team that wins each division goes on to play in the National League Championship Series (NLCS). The winner of the NLCS then plays in the World Series against the champion of the American League

So far this season, these are the teams that are leading their respective divisions:
