Introduction

The 2019-2020 Season is the Cathedral High School basketball team’s 103rd season. The team is led by Head Coach Matt Bowker, who is in his 13th season as the head coach of the varsity team The team plays its home games at the Cathedral Gymnasium on the campus of Cathedral high school in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The Roster

The 2019–20 St. Louis Cathedral high school basketball team will represent St. Louis Cathedral in the 2019–20 high school Basketball season The team’s Head Coach is Josh Harrellson.

The Coaches

The Cathedral Basketball Roster is made up of players from all over the country, with a mix of experience and youth. The team is coached by Head coach Matt Mobley, who is in his fourth season with the team. Coach Mobley is originally from New Jersey and played collegiate basketball at La Salle University He has been coaching at the collegiate level for 14 years, and has been with Cathedral since 2016.

Assistant coach Steve McNamee is in his first season with the team. Coach McNamee is originally from Massachusetts and played his collegiate basketball at UMass-Amherst. He has been coaching at the collegiate level for 8 years.

The team’s third coach is Dwayne Stephens, who is in his sixth season with Cathedral. Coach Stephens is from Detroit, Michigan and played his collegiate basketball at Oakland University He has been coaching at the collegiate level for 19 years.

The season runs from November 5th through February 16th.

The Fans

The Los Angeles Cathedral is a co-ed Catholic high school located in the city’s historic Chinatown district. The school is best known for its basketball team which has won five State Championships and produced numerous Division I and NBA players

The team is also known for its passionate fans, who are often seen cheering on the team at home games and away games. Some of the most passionate fans are members of the school’s alumni association, which provides support for the team through fundraising and other activities.

The History

The Basketball Program at Cathedral high school dates back to 1911, when the school first formed a team. The squad was made up of just six players, but they quickly made a name for themselves, winning their first game against a rival school.

Over the years, the team has continued to grow and evolve, becoming one of the most successful programs in the state. Today, the squad is made up of twelve players, all of whom are eager to continue the winning tradition

-Tommy Anderson: A senior guard who has been with the team since his freshman year. He is a three-time All-Conference selection and was named MVP of the conference as a junior. Anderson is known for his tenacious defense and his ability to hit Big Shots in pressure situations.

-Will Bartlett: A senior forward who rejoined the team this season after taking a year off. Bartlett is a skilled post player who uses his 6’4″ frame to create mismatches for opponents. He is a two-time All-Conference selection and was named MVP of the conference as a sophomore.

-AJ Brown: A junior guard who is one of the team’s most reliable scorers. Brown has improved his shooting touch over the past year and has become one of Cathedral’s go-to options on offense.

-Matt Brooks: A junior forward who provides a spark off the bench with his energy and hustle. Brooks is one of the team’s best rebounders and also has a knack for making key plays on both ends of the court.

-Cole Johnson: A senior guard who is in his fourth year with the program. Johnson is a smart player who understands how to run an offense and make good decisions with the ball. He is also a solid shooter from long range.

-Luke Miller: A senior center who anchors Cathedral’s defense with his shot-blocking ability. Miller also provides an offensive threat in the post, averaging nearly double figures in points per game

The Rivalries

The Championships

Since the beginning of the Men’s Basketball Program in 1898, the Varsity team has won 23 conference championships The team has also appeared in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament 26 times, with 6 Sweet Sixteen appearances and 2 Elite Eight appearances. The most recent championship was in 2009.

The Future

The Cathedral high school Basketball team is made up of 10 talented student-athletes. The roster includes seniors, juniors and sophomores who all contribute to the team’s success.

Head coach Matt Husek says the team’s success this season is due to their hard work and dedication. “Our guys have been working extremely hard in practice and it’s paying off,” he said.

The team’s captain, senior guard Matt Bush says the key to the team’s success is their chemistry. “We’re a close-knit group and we really play well together,” he said.
