The release of the CBS basketball rankings is always one of the most highly-anticipated moments of the college Basketball season
This year is no different, as the top spot in the rankings is up for grabs.
The CBS Basketball Rankings are compiled by a panel of experts and take into account a number of factors, including Strength of Schedule recent results, and overall record.
The rankings are used to determine which teams will be invited to participate in the NCAA tournament so they are extremely important for all of the teams in contention.
For the top-ranked teams, a loss can mean falling out of contention for a spot in the tournament entirely.

1. Duke Blue Devils
Duke is currently ranked No. 1 in the CBS Sports Top 25 And 1 daily college basketball rankings. The Blue Devils have been led by freshman superstar Zion Williamson who is averaging 21 points and 9 rebounds per game Williamson has been one of the most dominating players in all of college basketball and has helped Duke to a 18-1 record on the season.
2. Gonzaga Bulldogs
Gonzaga has been one of the most consistent teams in all of College Basketball over the last few years and this season has been no different. The Bulldogs are currently 19-1 on the year and their only loss came against a very good Tennessee team. Gonzaga has wins over some very good teams this year, including Oregon, Iowa State Washington and Arizona State
3. Virginia Cavaliers
Virginia has been one of the best Defensive Teams in all of College Basketball over the last few years and that has continued this season. The Cavaliers are currently 16-1 on the year with their only loss coming to Florida State earlier this month. Virginia has wins over some very good teams this season, including Louisville, NC State, Wisconsin and Maryland.
4. Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky got off to a slow start to the season but they have really picked it up as of late and have established themselves as one of the best teams in the country. The Wildcats are currently 16-3 on the year with their losses coming against Duke, Seton Hall and LSU. Kentucky has some really good wins this season against Auburn, Tennessee, Mississippi State and Louisville.

Florida Gators The Florida Gators are currently ranked sixth in the nation in the CBS basketball rankings They just missed the top five, but they are still a very good team. They have a record of 16-2, and their only losses have come to ranked opponents. They have a lot of talent on their roster, and they are well coached. If they can improve their play on the road, they could be a very dangerous team in the NCAA Tournament

The CBS Basketball Rankings are out and there is a new number one! The Kansas Jayhawks leapfrogged the Duke Blue Devils after an impressive week that saw them beat two top-10 teams. The Jayhawks now sit atop the rankings with a record of 27-3.

The Grizzlies have been on a roll lately, winning eight of their last ten games. Their only losses during that span were to the Hawks and the Suns. The Suns have been up and down lately, but they have managed to maintain their spot in the top four. They have wins over some good teams, including the Spurs and the Miami Heat However, they have also lost to some subpar teams, such as the Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacramento Kings
The Spurs round out the top four with a record of 32-15. They have wins over some good teams, such as the Suns and the Lakers. However, they have also lost to some inferior teams, such as the Houston Rockets and the Minnesota Timberwolves

1. Marquette Golden Eagles
Marquette has been flying under the radar for most of the season, but they have quietly put together a very solid team. They have wins over some pretty good teams, including Wisconsin and Pittsburgh, and they have one of the best players in the country in Markus Howard. Marquette is a team that can shoot the lights out from deep and they have the potential to make a deep run in the tournament.
2. LSU Tigers
LSU has been one of the best teams in the country all season long and they have the talent to make a run to the Final Four. They have Great players all over the court, including potential NBA Lottery pick Zion Williamson and they are capable of beating anyone in the country. LSU will be a tough out in the tournament and they could make a run to

The NCAA Tournament is approaching quickly and that means it’s time to start paying attention to the bubble. The CBS Sports experts have updated their projections for the field of 68 and there are some new teams on the list. Here’s a look at where things stand as of Feb. 24.

What teams are falling
The college basketball season is in full swing and teams are starting to jockey for position in the rankings.
Virginia remains on top of the CBS Sports college basketball rankings for the third consecutive week, but there is plenty of movement behind them.
Gonzaga and Duke both move up a spot to second and third, respectively, while Kentucky falls two spots to fourth after suffering its first loss of the season.
North Carolina rounds out the top five after moving up two spots, while Michigan State Kansas, Tennessee, Nevada and Auburn all fell out of the top 10 this week.
Oklahoma remains at No. 11 followed by Marquette, Florida State Houston and Buffalo to round out the top 15.
