DC Assault Basketball Alumni
Founded in 1996, DC Assault is one of the most well-known and respected AAU programs in the country. DC Assault has produced dozens of Division I basketball players and several NBA players including Carmelo Anthony Jeff Green Kevin Durant and Michael Beasley
Where are they now?
The DC Assault Basketball Program has produced some of the top High School and collegiate players in the country. Here’s a look at where some of our alumni are now:

What they’re doing now
Association with the DC Assault organization helped many young men receive college scholarships and go on to have successful professional careers in the NBA, overseas and in the business world. Here’s a look at what some of our well-known alumni are doing now.
Allan Houston – Former New York Knicks guard and current General Manager of the G League’s Westchester Knicks.
Tracy McGrady – 7-time NBA All-Star who won two Olympic gold medals with Team USA McGrady is currently an analyst on ESPN’s NBA Countdown
Josh Howard – NBA veteran who played for the Dallas Mavericks Washington Wizards and Utah Jazz Howard is now a strategic development coach for the Los Angeles Clippers.
How they’re doing now
Some of our favorite DC Assault Basketball Alumni are doing great things now. Here’s an update on a few of them.
Michael Beasley: After being drafted 2nd overall in the 2008 NBA draft by the Miami Heat Beasley played for several teams before returning to the Heat in 2017. He is currently a free agent
Greg Monroe: Monroe played for the Detroit Pistons from 2010 to 2015, and is currently a member of the Milwaukee Bucks
Roy Hibbert: Hibbert was drafted 17th overall by the Toronto Raptors in 2008 and traded to the Indiana Pacers where he played until 2015. He is currently a free agent
What they’re up to
The DC Assault basketball team has a long and successful history. Many of its alumni have gone on to have successful careers in the NBA. Here’s a look at what some of them are up to now.
--Ray Allen After a successful college career at the University of Connecticut Ray Allen was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in 1996. He played for the Bucks for eight seasons before being traded to the Seattle SuperSonics in 2003. He played for the Sonics for five seasons before being traded to the Boston Celtics in 2007. He won an NBA Championship with the Celtics in 2008 and was named an All-Star in 2010. He currently plays for the Miami Heat
-Michael Beasley: After a successful college career at Kansas State University Michael Beasley was drafted by the Miami Heat with the second overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft He played for the Heat for two seasons before being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2010. He played for the Timberwolves for three seasons before being traded back to the Miami Heat in 2013. He is currently a Free Agent
--Tyreke Evans Tyreke Evans was drafted by the Sacramento Kings with the fourth overall pick in 2009 NBA Draft after a successful college career at the University of Memphis. He won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 2010 and was named an All-Star in 2011. He played for the Kings for four seasons before being traded to New Orleans Pelicans in 2013 where he currently plays.

It’s been quite a while since the DC Assault organization has had any new updates. With that said, we decided to catch up with some of the program’s distinguished alumni to see what they’ve been up to.

Since joining the league in 2006, the DC Assault Basketball team has seen many of its players go on to successful professional careers. But what’s next for them?
In 2006, the DC Assault basketball team was founded with the goal of developing local talent and giving them a platform to showcase their skills. Since then, the team has seen many of its players go on to successful professional careers.
But what’s next for them?
Many of the team’s alumni are still involved in basketball in some capacity, whether it be coaching, working in player development or commentating games. Others have gone on to pursue other interests, such as business or law.
Whatever they choose to do next, there’s no doubt that the DC Assault Basketball team has had a positive impact on their lives.
What they’re looking forward to
The DC Assault alumni are excited to see what the future holds for their favorite basketball team They are looking forward to watching the team grow and improve, and hope to see them make a run at the championship.
What they’re excited about
Many of our alumni are currently playing Professional Basketball all over the world. They’re excited to see what the program will continue to produce and develop under our current Head Coach Shaun mind.
What they’re doing to stay busy
Alumni from the DC Assault basketball team are keeping busy by doing a variety of things. Some are continuing their studies, some are working on their game, and some are pursuing other interests.
For example, alumni Aaron Bowen is continuing his studies at George Washington University while alumni Devin Sweetney is working on his game at a local gym. Alumni Mike Jones is pursuing other interests, such as photography.
