In a victory against their long-time rivals, the University of North Carolina the Duke Blue Devils baseball team scored 9 points to the UNC Tar Heels’ 3. This extends Duke’s lead in the all-time series to 154-112.

The Duke Baseball Team has won its last three games, continuing its Winning Streak The team is now 8-4 overall and 3-0 in the ACC. The team’s next game is against Wake Forest on March 3.
Duke baseball clinches ACC title
The Duke Blue Devils baseball team clinched the ACC title with a 9-8 win over the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday. The Blue Devils have now won five ACC titles in the last six years.
Duke got off to a hot start, scoring three runs in the first inning. Miami quickly answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first, but Duke pulled ahead again with two more runs in the top of the second. The Hurricanes tied the game in the bottom of the third, but Duke took the lead for good with a four-run fourth inning.
The Blue Devils held on to win 9-8, clinching their fifth ACC title in six years. Duke will now turn its attention to the NCAA tournament where they will be a top seed

Duke baseball headed to the College World Series
Duke Baseball is headed to the College World Series for the second time in three years after defeating Vanderbilt in the Nashville Super Regional on Monday afternoon.
The Blue Devils (51-16) won the best-of-three series 2-0 and will now head to Omaha, Nebraska, where they will face off against Indiana (44-20) in the first round of the College World Series on Saturday, June 15.

The Duke Blue Devils won the College World Series for the first time in program history, defeating the Vanderbilt Commodores 8-2 in Wednesday night’s Championship game
Duke (56-11) entered the bottom of the ninth inning with a 5-2 lead, but Vanderbilt (54-12) loaded the bases with one out. Duke closer Liam Hendriks then got Curt Casali to fly out to center field for the second out, and Tony Kemp to pop out to second base for the final out, preserving the victory.
Hendriks was named the Most Outstanding Player of the College World Series while Duke starting pitcher Marcus Stroman was named the Most Outstanding Player of the entire NCAA Tournament

Eight Duke baseball players were drafted in the 2019 MLB Draft continuing a recent trend of Blue Devils being selected in the draft. The eight draftees are the most since 2009, when Duke had 10 players selected. All eight of this year’s draftees were pitchers, with six coming from the Duke bullpen.

ChrisOADonnell (Duke ’08) drove in the winning run for the Atlanta Braves with a two-out single in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Miami Marlins Andrew Miller (Duke ’06) picked up a save for the Cleveland Indians pitching a scoreless ninth inning against the Chicago White Sox And third baseman Chase Headley (Duke ’05) hit a go-ahead home run for the San Diego Padres in their victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates These alumni are just a few of the many Duke baseball players who are making a difference in the big leagues

Duke baseball fans rejoice! The team has scored another win, this time against their rival, the University of North Carolina The final score was 10-2. This is the Duke team’s second win in a row and their fourth in the past six games.
The Duke team’s impressive performance this season has been thanks in part to strong pitching from senior Kevin Cowan and junior Braden Zarbnisky. The team’s hitting has also been on fire, led by senior catcher Mike Rosenbaum. Rosenbaum has been batting .500 this season with four home runs and eighteen RBIs.
With this latest win, Duke moves to 14-5 on the season and 3-1 in conference play The team’s next game is against Wake Forest on Friday, April 6th.
