-Duke will face Michigan State in the Opening Round of the 2019 State Farm Champions Classic on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in Madison Square Garden Tip-off time and television broadcast information will be announced at a later date.
-Duke will return to MSG for the second game of the doubleheader as the Blue Devils face Kansas. The Jayhawks downed Duke in last year’s Elite Eight to end the Blue Devils’ season.
-The game against Kansas will be the first of four meetings between the two programs over the next two seasons. The two teams will meet again during the 2020-21 season in Lawrence, Kan., before squaring off in consecutive years as part of the Big 12/ACC Challenge (2021 in Durham and 2022 in Lawrence).
Duke Basketball in Madison Square Garden
Duke will open the season against Kentucky in Madison Square Garden as part of the Champions Classic, one of college basketball’s premier events, it was announced on Wednesday.
The game will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 9:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN.
It will mark the seventh time that Duke has played in the Champions Classic, which features four of the nation’s top programs – Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State and Kansas – squaring off against each other in Prime Time on ESPN.
Duke is 4-2 in the event, with its last appearance coming in 2017 when the Blue Devils defeated Michigan State in Chicago.

Duke Basketball Schedule Analysis
Duke will face Texas in the first round of the 2K Empire Classic at Madison Square Garden the tournament announced Thursday.
The Blue Devils who are ranked No. 4 in The Associated Press poll, will take on the Longhorns on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The winner of that game will advance to take on either Georgetown or Texas Tech the following day at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
The Longhorns are coming off a season in which they went 20-12 and reached the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2014. They lost to Nevada in the first round, 87-83.

Duke’s game against Florida Gulf Coast University will tip off at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Madison Square Garden in New York City as part of the 2K Empire Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project.
