About Edward Waters Basketball

Edward Waters College is a small, private institution located in Jacksonville, Florida. It is affiliated with the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Founded in 1866, it is one of the oldest Historically Black Colleges in the United States

The school’s athletic teams compete in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and are known as the Tigers. The men’s Basketball team has won one conference championship and made one appearance in the NCAA Division II tournament.

The Team

The Edward Waters College men’s basketball team is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Mid-South Conference The Tigers are led by Head Coach Steve DeMeo, who is in his first season with the team.

The team consists of fifteen players, all of whom are eager to bring home a win for their school and fans. The roster includes:

– Senior forward/center Chris Perry, who is averaging 13.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game
– Junior guard/forward Rasheed Wright, who is averaging 11.5 points and 5.5 assists per game
– Freshman guard Jaheim Holden, who is averaging 9.5 points per game

The Edward Waters College Tigers men’s Basketball team has a long tradition of success, dating back to their first season in 1957. In recent years the team has qualified for the NAIA National Tournament four times (2012, 2013, 2015, 2016), and they are looking to build on that success in the coming seasons.

The Schedule

The Edward Waters Tigers basketball team has a long and storied history. The team has been to the NCAA tournament four times, most recently in 2019. They play their home games at the historic Tiger Gymnasium on the campus of Edward Waters College.

The Tigers have a rich tradition of success on the court, and they are always looking to add more championships to their resume. The team is coached by Johnnie Harris, who is in his fourth season at the helm. The 2019-2020 Season will be an exciting one for Edward Waters basketball, and we hope you will join us for all the action.

The Edward Waters Tigers will play a total of 28 games this season, including 14 home games and 14 away games. The schedule is subject to change, but as of now, here are the dates and opponents for all of the Tigers’ games:

The Rivalries

Basketball is a sport that is steeped in tradition and Edward Waters College is no different. The school has been playing the sport since 1924 and has developed intense rivalries with nearby schools. The two biggest rivals for the Tigers are Florida A&M University and Bethune-Cookman University. Both of these schools are located in Tallahassee, Florida and both have strong basketball programs The games between these three schools are always hotly contested and the fans are very passionate about their team.

The Championships

The Edward Waters College Tigers men’s basketball team is the basketball team that represents Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida. The school’s team currently competes in the NAIA Division I. They are members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).

The Tigers have appeared in the NAIA Tournament three times. Their combined record is 1–3.

The program has claimed one Conference Championship That came in 1963 when they won the Florida collegiate athletic conference title.

The Hall of Fame

The Edward Waters College Tigers men’s Basketball team has a long and proud history. The team has been to the NAIA Division I National Tournament seven times, most recently in 2015. They have also won conference championships in 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2013. In addition, the team has produced two All-Americans and six Hall of Fame inductees.

The Legacy

The 2017-18 Season is shaping up to be another successful one for Edward Waters basketball. The team currently has a record of 16-5 overall and 9-3 in conference play The Tigers are hoping to make another deep run in the NAIA tournament this year and bring home a National Championship
