Today, the team competes in the NCAA Division I and is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference With a rich tradition of success, Eku basketball is one of the most popular sports on campus and draws large crowds to its games.

The Eku men’s Basketball team is currently in the news as they are set to compete in the NCAA tournament The team has a long history of success, making it to the tournament 12 times in the last 20 years. This year, they are seeded 14th in the West region and will take on 3rd seed Purdue in the first round.

Eku Basketball schedule

The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team will open its 2019-20 season on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at home against Stony Brook

The Colonels’ 29-game regular season schedule features 16 games against opponents that participated in postseason play a year ago, including 12 games against teams that played in the NCAA Tournament

EKU’s non-conference slate also features home contests against Marshall (Nov. 8), Louisville (Nov. 12), IUPUI (Nov. 29), Campbellsville (Dec. 3), Wright State (Dec. 7) and West Virginia Wesleyan (Dec. 17).

The Colonels will play a total of 18 games as part of the Ohio Valley Conference schedule, including home contests against Morehead State (Jan. 2), Murray State (Jan. 4), Southeast Missouri (Jan. 25), Austin Peay (Feb. 1) and Jacksonville State (Feb. 15). EKU will also host UT Martin on Thursday, Feb. 20, as part of ESPN’s College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon
