The Matchups to Watch

This year’s Georgia High school basketball Playoffs are sure to be exciting, with a number of skilled teams contending for the title. Here are some of the matchups to watch:

In the first round, #1 seed Creekview will take on #8 seed Sandy Creek While Sandy Creek is certainly capable of pulling off an upset, Creekview is the clear favorite here and should win handily.

In the second round, #4 seed Norcross will face off against #5 seed Collins Hill. This is a closer matchup, but Norcross has home-court advantage and is therefore slightly favored to win.

As we enter the month of February, that can only mean one thing: High School Basketball playoffs are just around the corner in the state of Georgia. From February 4th- March 8th, teams will be battling it out all across the state in hopes of securing a spot in the Georgia High School Basketball Championships.

So, what can we expect from this year’s playoffs? Below are some of the highlights:

-The first round of the playoffs will feature a total of 64 games, spread out over four days (February 4th-7th).
-32 games will be played on Opening Day (February 4th), with 16 games each being played at sites in Northern and Southern Georgia.
-The second round of the playoffs (February 11th-14th) will feature a total of 32 games, with 16 games being played in Northern Georgia and 16 games being played in Southern Georgia.
-The Elite Eight round of the playoffs (February 18th-21st) will feature a total of 16 games, with eight games being played in Northern Georgia and eight games being played in Southern Georgia.
-And finally, the Final Four (March 6th) and state championship Game (March 8th) will be held at the Macon Coliseum in Macon, Georgia.
