Introducing the High Point Basketball Roster

The High Point University men’s basketball team is made up of some of the most talented young players in the country. The team is led by point guard Austin Catlin, who is averaging 16 points and 4 assists per game Other Key Players include shooting guard Jamal Baptiste, who is averaging 14 points per game and Power Forward Isaiah Moore, who is averaging 10 points and 7 rebounds per game With a strong core of players, the High Point Basketball team is poised for a successful season

Meet the High Point basketball Team

When it comes to college basketball there’s a lot of attention placed on the star players But what about the rest of the team? The High Point basketball team is made up of 12 student-athletes, all with different stories and backgrounds. Here’s a look at each player on the roster:

Ryan wields has been one of the team’s most consistent players over the last two seasons. The 6-foot-5-inch guard from Detroit, Michigan averaged 9.5 points and 2.8 rebounds per game last season and is expected to be one of the leaders on this year’s squad.

Trey Witter is a 6-foot-7-inch forward from Charlotte, North Carolina who provides a versatile skillset for the Panthers. Witter averaged 6.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game last season while also shooting 38 percent from three-point range

Isaiah Walton is a 6-foot-8-inch forward from Richmond, Virginia who is coming off a breakout junior season in which he averaged 11.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from the field.

Christian Keeling is a 6-foot-4-inch guard from Charleston, South Carolina who will be looked to for scoring and leadership this season after averaging 15 points per game last year.

Logan Johnson is a 7-foot center from Baltimore, Maryland who provides size and shot blocking ability in the post for High Point Johnson averaged 1.9 points and 2 rebounds in limited action last season but will be counted on to contribute more this year as he gains experience.

Asiah Dingle is a 5-foot-9-inch guard from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania who will be counted on to provide scoring and defense off the bench this season after averaging 7 points per game last year.

Rylee Tyson is a 5B foot -10 inch guard from Winston Salem North Carolina who will provide depth in the backcourt for High Point this season

The High Point University men’s Basketball team is made up of 12 talented young men who hail from all over the country. The 2017-2018 roster features six veterans and six newcomers. Get to know the High Point Basketball Roster below.

Quentin Jackson – Senior – Guard – Detroit, MI
Jackson is a senior guard who hails from Detroit, Michigan. He is a four-year veteran of the High Point basketball team and he has been a starter for the past two seasons. Jackson is a versatile player who can play both guard positions. He is a talented scorer and an excellent three-point shooter.

LJ Shaw – Senior – Forward – Greensboro, NC
Shaw is a senior forward from Greensboro, North Carolina He is a four-year veteran of the High Point basketball team and he has been a starter for the past two seasons. Shaw is a big man who can score inside and out. He is an excellent rebounder and shot blocker.

Jordan Whitehead – Junior – Guard – Winston-Salem, NC
Whitehead is a junior guard from Winston-Salem, North Carolina He is in his third year with the High Point basketball team and he has seen action in all but two games over that span. Whitehead is a good all-around player who can score, rebound, and defend.

Tyrie Jackson – Sophomore – Guard – Chicago, IL
Jackson is a sophomore guard from Chicago, Illinois. He joined the High Point basketball team last season after spending one year at prep school Jackson saw action in 25 games as a freshman last season and he started seven times. He is an athletic guard who can score and defend.

Drew Lipscomb – Sophomore – Forward – Charlotte, NC
Lipscomb is a sophomore forward from Charlotte, North Carolina He joined the High Point Basketball team last season after spending one year at prep school. Lipscomb saw action in 25 games as a freshman last season and he started five times.. He is an excellent three-point shooter with good size for his position.

High Point Basketball Roster Star Players

Chris Clemons
Clemons is a 5’9” guard from Campbell University He was the 2018 Big South Conference Player of the Year and led the nation in scoring, averaging 30 points per game He was also named an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press. Clemons was a four-year starter at Campbell and finished his career as the school’s All-time leading scorer with 2,741 points.

John Brown
Brown is a 6’8” forward who played his college basketball at High Point University He was named the Big South Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017 and was a two-time All-Big South first team selection. Brown finished his career as High Point’s all-time leader in blocks (234) and ranks second in school history in rebounds (901). He was also named High Point’s Male Athlete of the Year in 2017.

Andre Fox
Fox is a 6’3” guard from Rocky Mount NC who played his College Basketball at UNC Wilmington He was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Year in 2016 and earned All-CAA second team honors in 2017 and 2018. Fox finished his career ranked third in UNC Wilmington history with 201 3-pointers made

High Point Basketball Roster Under the Radar

With a new season comes a new High Point basketball roster and this year there are plenty of talented players flying under the radar. From fresh faces to familiar ones, here are the players to keep an eye on this season:

--Chris Clemons The 5-foot-9 guard averaged 27.1 Points per game last season and is unquestionably the team’s best player. Clemons is an offensive dynamo who can score from anywhere on the court. He’s also a capable passer and an improving defender.

-Ty recycles binned cover wall : A rookie big man from Australia, Ty was a late addition to the roster but has impressed in preseason with his size (6-foot-11) and shooting touch (he’s made 43 percent of his 3-point attempts). He gives the team another much-needed credible threat from beyond the arc.

-Brandon Dragg Research: A 6-foot-5 wing who is one of the team’s best defenders, Brandon is expected to see increased minutes this season as he continues to develop his all-around game. He’s a versatile player who can contribute in a variety of ways.

These are just a few of the many talented players on the High Point Basketball roster. With so much depth and versatility, it promises to be an exciting season for Panthers fans.

High Point’s roster is made up of 13 student-athletes from eight states: North Carolina (5), Virginia (2), New York (1), Maryland (1), South Carolina (1), Illinois (1), Florida (1) and Georgia (1).

High Point Basketball Roster Meet the Coaches

High Point University’s men’s Basketball team is coached by former professional player and coach, Scott Cherry. Coach Cherry has a wealth of experience at the collegiate and professional levels. He is joined by Assistant coaches Mike Pecararo and Jamaine Underwood. Both assistant coaches were standout players in college and have extensive coaching experience.

The High Point Basketball Roster includes many talented players from all over the country. Some of the notable players include:

– Sharif Fajardo: A 6’8” forward from Baltimore, MD who was a highly recruited player out of High School he chose to play for High Point because of the family atmosphere and the chance to play for a winning program.

– Denny Dillard: A 6’4” guard from Charlotte, NC who many consider to be one of the best shooters in the country. He chose High Point because of its up-and-coming Basketball Program and its proximity to his hometown.

– John Michael Wright: A 6’5” guard from Raleigh, NC who is a versatile player that can score, rebound, and play defense He chose High Point because of its great Coaching Staff and its location in the state of North Carolina

The High Point Basketball team is one of the best in the country. They have a great record and are led by some of the best players in the country. This year’s roster is no different, as they have a lot of talent and depth. Here is a look at the High Point Basketball Roster

Guards:
-Raymond Canty- A senior from Baltimore, Maryland, Canty is one of the best defensive guards in the country. He is a great perimeter shooter and is very good at getting to the basket.
-Bryce Scott- A junior from Winston-Salem, North Carolina Scott is a very talented guard who can score from anywhere on the court. He is an excellent shooter and is also very good at distributing the ball.

Forwards:
-Joshua Cameron- A senior from Charlotte, North Carolina Cameron is a very versatile forward who can score inside and out. He is a very good rebounder and can also defend well.
-Jeremiah Johnson- A junior from Greensboro, North Carolina Johnson is a very athletic forward who can finish well around the basket. He is also a good defender and rebounder.

Center:
-David Christenson- A senior from Raleigh, North Carolina Christenson is a very skilled center who can score inside and out. He is an excellent rebounder and shot blocker and is also a very good passer.

Guard

Jaylen Richardson – a 6’3” combo guard from Charlotte, NC. Richardson comes to High Point after a successful high school career, during which he was named conference player of the year and led his team to a state championship He is a versatile player who can score from anywhere on the court and is a tenacious defender.

Forwards

Tyler Walsh – a 6’8” forward from Boston, MA. Walsh joins High Point Basketball after four years of collegiate basketball, during which he was named to the All-Conference team three times. He is a excellent rebounder and shot blocker and will be a key player for High Point this season.

Centers

Mikey Lopez – a 7’0” center from Los Angeles CA. Lopez comes to High Point with extensive experience playing Professional Basketball overseas. He is a skilled post player with great footwork and touch around the basket.
