A Look at the Horizon League Baseball Standings
The Horizon League is a collegiate baseball conference which operates in the Midwestern United States As of the 2019 season, the league comprises ten schools. Nine of the ten members are full members of the NCAA Division I, while one school, Oakland, is transitioning from Division II to Division I.

The conference is currently divided into two divisions, the East and West. Detroit Mercy Northern Kentucky, Oakland, UIC, and Wright State make up the East Division while Butler, Cleveland State Green Bay IUPUI, and Milwaukee compose the West Division. A Closer Look at the Horizon League Baseball Standings
As we take a closer look at the Horizon League Baseball standings, we see that there is a clear leader in the race for the conference title The Chicago Cubs are currently in first place with a record of 41-17. They are followed closely by the St. Louis Cardinals who are just a half game back with a record of 40-17. The Pittsburgh Pirates are in third place with a record of 36-21, while the Cincinnati Reds round out the top four with a record of 35-22.
The Chicago Cubs have been the most consistent team in the Horizon League all season long They have one of the best pitchers in the league in Jake Arrieta, who has been nearly unhittable all season long. They also have a potent offense that is led by third baseman Kris Bryant and first baseman Anthony Rizzo The Cubs have had very few problems winning games this season and they look like they are on their way to winning the Horizon League title.
The St. Louis Cardinals have been right behind the Cubs all season long and they appear to be their main competition for the conference title The Cardinals have their own ace pitcher in Adam Wainwright, who has been one of the best pitchers in baseball over the past few seasons. Wainwright has been joined by fellow pitchers Carlos Martinez and Michael Wacha to form a very strong pitching staff for the Cardinals. The Cardinals also have a very good offense that is led by first baseman Matt Adams and outfielder Matt Holliday. The Cardinals have all of the pieces necessary to win the Horizon League title and they will be giving the Cubs all they can handle down the stretch.
The Pittsburgh Pirates are currently in third place in the Horizon League Standings but they are only three games back of first place. The Pirates have been very streaky this season and they will need to go on a hot streak if they want to catch up to the Cubs and Cardinals. The Pirates do have some good young players on their team, including second baseman Josh Harrison and outfielder Andrew McCutchen If those two players can get hot at the plate, then the Pirates could make a run at one of those top two spots in the standings.

Milwaukee is in first place with a conference record of 15-3 and an overall record of 27-15.
Youngstown State is in second place with a conference record of 13-5 and an overall record of 21-19.
Oakland is in third place with a conference record of 12-6 and an overall record of 17-20.
UIC is in fourth place with a conference record of 11-7 and an overall record of 19-18.
Wright State is in fifth place with a conference record of 10-8 and an overall record of 25-17.
Cleveland State is in sixth place with a conference record 8-10 and an overall record of 18-21.

The Horizon League is made up of 10 schools: Butler, Cleveland State Detroit, Illinois-Chicago, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne and Wright State
