The IUK Basketball team is made up of 12 talented athletes, all committed to working hard and representing their school with pride.

Roster:

IUK Basketball Roster Meet the Coach

Paul Updates is in his second season as the men’s basketball coach at Indiana University Kokomo. In his first season, the team had a record of 18-9.

Before coming to IU Kokomo, Coach Updates coached for four years at Logansport High School where he had a record of 80-32. He led the team to two sectional titles and one regional title.

Coach Updates played basketball at Manchester College from 2003-2007. He was a two-time All-Conference player and was named the Conference Player of the Year in 2007.

IUK Basketball Roster Meet the Captains

The Indiana University Kokomo men’s basketball team is led by three captains this season. Two are returnees from last year, while the third is a newcomer.

Seniors Jordan Sprong and Brandon Johnson are the two returnees. Sprong, who is from South Bend was named captain for the second year in a row. He averaged 12 points and five rebounds per game last season. Johnson, who is from Indianapolis, averaged eight points and four rebounds per game last season. He was named captain for the first time.

The third captain is junior transfer student Jovan Moody, who is from Chicago. Moody played his first two seasons of college basketball at Henderson State University in Arkansas. He averaged 11 points and five rebounds per game last season.

The IUK Basketball team is currently in the middle of their season and are looking to end it on a high note. The team is made up of talented players who work hard to ensure their success both on and off the court. Here, we will introduce you to the starting lineup for the IUK basketball team

Garrett Cagle, Senior
Garrett is a senior from Bloomington, Indiana. He is majoring in Biology and has been playing basketball since he was a child. Garrett is a forward on the team and is known for his shooting skills. He is also a talented rebounder and has been named one of the best players in the conference by coaches and fans alike.

Julia Brown, Sophomore
Julia is a sophomore from Carmel, Indiana. She is majoring in Political Science and joined the basketball team her freshman year. Julia is a guard on the team and is known for her shooting accuracy and defensive skills. She also has a knack for rebounding and has been an integral part of the team’s success over the past two years.

Luke Gardner, Junior
Luke is a junior from Evansville, Indiana. He is majoring in Business Administration and has been playing basketball since he was a child. Luke is a guard on the team and is known for his shooting skills as well as his ability to drive to the basket. He also averages quite a few assists per game and has been praised by coaches for his leadership skills on the court.

Sarah Miller, Freshman
Sarah is a freshman from Louisville, Kentucky. She is majoring in Accounting and decided to join the basketball team her freshman year. Sarah is a forward on the team and brings energy and enthusiasm to every game. She loves rebounding and blocking shots, but can also shoot from anywhere on the court.

IUK Basketball Roster Meet the Mascot

IUK has a long and proud tradition of athletics, and our Basketball team is no exception. The “Mighty Tartans” have been thrilling audiences for generations, and we’re excited to introduce you to the latest members of the team.

This year’s lineup includes some familiar faces, as well as some new additions. Captain Jack MacFarlane returns for his senior year, joined by junior shooting guard Fiona Campbell. Newcomers include freshman point guard Robbie Duncan and sophomore small forward Amy Nguyen.

The team is rounded out by junior power forward Kevin Wong, sophomore center Samir Patel, and freshman forward Malik Williams. Our mascot, “Tartan Ted” will also be on hand to cheer the team on to victory!

The IUK Basketball Team is made up of 12 players, all of whom have experience playing the sport at a high level. The team is coached by Joe Dooley, who has been with the program since its inception in 2012.

The roster is as follows:

-Gabe Hadley: A 6-foot-3-inch guard from Indianapolis, Indiana. Gabe is a three-year starter who is known for his defensive prowess. He is also a capable scorer, averaging 11 points per game last season.

-Trey McKinney: A 6-foot-5-inch forward from Chicago, Illinois. Trey is a two-year starter who brings a lot of energy to the court. He is a good rebounder and shot blocker, averaging 8 points and 6 rebounds per game last season.

-Derek Thompson: A 6-foot-7-inch forward from Mishawaka, Indiana. Derek is a three-year starter who is one of the team’s best shooters. He averaged 10 points per game last season and also provides solid rebounding and defense.

-Isaiah Johnson: A 6-foot-8-inch center from South Bend Indiana. Isaiah is a four-year starter who anchor’s the team’s defense. He is also a good rebounder and shot blocker, averaging 9 points and 8 rebounds per game last season.

IUK Basketball Roster Meet the Trainers

IUK’s Basketball Roster is not only filled with outstanding athletes, but also with a great support staff. Here’s a look at the trainers who help keep the team in top shape:

-Sandy Wilson: Sandy has been with IUK for 10 years and has been the head trainer for the last five. She is certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and specializes in rehabilitating injuries.

-Mike Johnson: Mike has been with IUK for six years and is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He works with the team to ensure they are physically prepared to meet the demands of a grueling season.

-Jason Brown: Jason is in his first year with IUK, but has been working as a trainer for 20 years. He is certified by the American College of sports medicine and specializes in nutrition and preventive care.

IUK fans are some of the most die-hard in the country. So it’s no surprise that they would want to get to know the men’s Basketball team a little better. Here is a quick guide to the roster, so you can learn a little more about your favorite players

1. Trenton Washington: A 6’5″ guard from Indianapolis, Indiana, Trenton is in his second year with the IUK Crimson Hawks. He averaged 9.5 points per game last season and is currently leading the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game

2. Jordon Crawford: A 6’4″ forward from Chicago, Illinois, Jordon is a fan favorite thanks to his high-flying dunking ability. He’s averaging 11.3 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this season.

3. Josh Hooge: A 6’7″ center from New Castle, Indiana, Josh is a big presence in the paint for the Crimson Hawks. He’s averaging 9.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this season..

4.. Darrien Underwood: A 6’6″ forward from Gary, Indiana, Darrien is one of the team’s best shooters, averaging 10..7 Points per game while shooting 47% from three-point range .
