Following his senior year of college, Haralson declared for the NBA Draft He was drafted in the second round by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 47th overall pick. However, he was later waived by the team without appearing in a regular season game for them.

Jalen Haralson was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round of the 2010 NBA Draft He played two seasons with the Hawks before being traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in 2012. He played one season with the Trail Blazers before being released in 2013. Haralson then spent some time playing in the NBA D-League and Europe before returning to the United States to play for various teams in the NBA Summer League In 2016, he signed a contract to play for Zhejiang Lions in China.
