Jaylen Brown was born on October 24, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up in a single-parent household with his mother and older sister. His father was not involved in his life. Brown played football and ran track as a child, but he began to focus on basketball in high school
He attended Wheeler high school in Marietta, Georgia. As a freshman, he averaged 18 points per game He improved his scoring average to 21 points per game as a sophomore and 27 points per game as a junior. As a senior, he averaged 29 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals per game. He was named a McDonald’s All-American and voted Georgia’s Mr. Basketball.
