He spent one season with Milwaukee before signing with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2014. He spent four seasons with the Clippers, winning an NBA Championship in 2020.

Redick was born in Cookeville, Tennessee and grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. He was a highly touted recruit out of High School and chose to play College Basketball for Duke University
Redick played four years for the Blue Devils cementing his legacy as one of the greatest shooters in College Basketball history. He won numerous awards, including the National Player of the Year and the Smith College Player of the Year.
Redick was drafted 11th overall by the Orlando Magic in 2006, and spent six seasons with the team before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks He has also played for the Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers.
Redick is currently averaging 19 points per game for the 76ers, and is considered one of the best shooters in the NBA.

As a freshman, Redick averaged 10.9 points while shooting 37.8 percent from three-point range, 59.2 percent from the field and 81.5 percent from the Free Throw Line He was second on the team in three pointers made with 45, and his three-point percentage was good for fifth in the ACC. As the season went on, he improved his scoring average to 15.0 points over the last 30 games while still shooting better than 37 percent from beyond the arc and 80 percent from the Foul Line He scored in double figures 25 times, including a career high 33 points against UNC Wilmington where he connected on a Duke freshman record nine three pointers. For his efforts, Redick was named to the All-ACC Freshman team and first-team Freshman All-American by Basketball Times.
Redick turned in an incredible sophomore campaign, earning ACC Player of the Year and first team All-ACC honors after leading the ACC in scoring at 21.8 points per game while also chipping in 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest. He set or tied 12 Duke records during his sophomore season, including most points in a season (715), most Free throws made (242) and most Free throws attempted (286). He also became just the seventh player in league history to be named ACC Player of the Year as a sophomore and just the fourth Duke player to receive that honor (joining Art Heyman, Danny Ferry and Jason Williams).

In 2019, after playing fourteen seasons in the NBA, J.J. Redick announced his retirement from Professional Basketball One of the league’s most accurate three-point shooters of all time, Redick finishes his career with averages of 41.4 percent shooting from downtown and a true shooting percentage of 58.9 percent. He also ends his time in the NBA with the seventh-most three pointers made in league history (2,111).
Looking back on his career, Redick is happy with what he was able to accomplish in the NBA. “It was a great ride,” he said in an interview with The Athletic. “I’m extremely grateful for everything — for all the ups and downs and all the people who’ve helped me along the way.”
Redick is now focusing on his post-retirement life, which includes working as an analyst for Turner Sports’ NBA coverage He is also expanding his business interests; he is a co-founder of Backed by Ballers, an investment fund that focuses on sports-related startups, and he has launched a podcast called The Old Man & The Three wherein he talks about basketball with other retired NBA players
Redick’s goal for the future is to help young athletes realize their potential both on and off the court. “I want to be remembered as somebody who was able to have success in this league but also as somebody who tried to help others,” he said. “That’s something that’s really important to me.”
