Davis played for the 76ers for two seasons, before being traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in 1985. He played for the Trail Blazers for three seasons, before being traded to the Orlando Magic in 1988. Davis played for the Magic for six seasons, before finishing his NBA Career with brief stints with the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets

In total, Davis played 12 seasons in the NBA, averaging 8.9 points per game over the course of his career. He retired from basketball in 1996 and has since worked as a television analyst and color commentator for various NBA teams
