La Salle’s History
La Salle University’s men’s Basketball Program is one of the nation’s most storied. The Explorers have won two NCAA Championships and made nine Final Fours. They’ve been to more NCAA tournaments than any other team in the Philadelphia Big 5, a group of the city’s Division I basketball programs (La Salle, Penn, Saint Joseph’s, Temple, and Villanova).

The Explorers have reached the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament eight times, most recently in 2013. They have reached the Sweet Sixteen three times and the Elite Eight once. The Team’s Schedule
The La Salle Explorers men’s basketball team will have their season opener on November 5th against Hofstra University Then, they will have an away game on November 8th against Rutgers University
Their first Home game will be on November 12th against Northeastern University. They will go on a five game road trip from November 15th-26th, with games against Auburn University Clemson University the University of South Carolina the College of Charleston and James Madison University. They will return home for a three game home stand from December 1st-5th, with games against Old Dominion University Towson University, and Drexel University.
Then, they will have a conference game away at George Mason University on December 8th. The team will finish off their non-Conference Schedule with back-to-back home games againts Rider University on December 10th and Stony Brook University on December 16th.
The conference schedule begins on New Year’s Eve when they host Saint Joseph’s Hawks at Hagan Arena.

The La Salle Explorers men’s Basketball team represents La Salle University in college basketball The team is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, which is considered to be one of the strongest conferences in NCAA Division I. The Explorers have made seven NCAA tournament appearances, most recently in 2019. They have also won one National Invitation Tournament championship, in 1952. The team plays its home games at Tom Gola Arena, which is located on the university’s main campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Since joining the Atlantic 10 Conference in 1995, the Explorers have had moderate success, making seven NCAA Tournament appearances and winning one conference tournament championship. La Salle began competing in intercollegiate basketball in 1907.
