Introduction to the Merchant Marine Baseball Team

The Merchant Marine Academy Baseball Team is a Division III program that competes in the Landmark Conference The Mariners are based in Kings Point, New York, and play their home games at Willets Point.

The team is coached by Matt Volpe, who is entering his seventh season at the helm of the program. Under Volpe, the Mariners have compiled a record of 154-121 (.560), including a mark of 43-22 (.662) in conference play

In 2017, the Mariners finished the season with an overall record of 25-17 and advanced to the Landmark conference tournament for the fifth straight year. The team fell to eventual conference champion Moravian in the semifinals, but rebounded to defeat Catholic in the third-place game.

The Merchant Marine baseball team has a long and storied history, dating back to the early days of the sport. The team was founded in 1892, and has been competing at the collegiate level for over a century. The Merchant Marine Baseball Team has had a very successful season so far. As of today, the team’s record is 20 wins and 3 losses.

The Team’s Roster

The Merchant Marine Baseball team is composed of 15 student-athletes, representing all four years of eligibility. The team is made up of students from across the country, with six states represented on the roster. There are also two international students from Canada and Japan. The Mariners compete in Division III of the NCAA and are members of the Landmark Conference.

The Team’s Schedule

The Merchant Marine baseball team is a Division III college baseball team that competes in the Landmark Conference. The team is fielded by the United States Merchant Marine Academy. The team plays its home games at the Baumann Field, located on the campus of the USMMA in Kings Point, New York.

The Mariners are coached by Mike Sheppard, who is entering his 12th season as Head Coach of the team. Coach Sheppard has led the Mariners to five conference championships and six NCAA Division III tournament appearances.

The Mariners finished the 2018 season with a record of 32-12-1, won the Landmark conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III tournament. The team’s success was due in large part to the pitching of conference Pitcher of the Year Anthony Ferrara and first baseman/outfielder Sam Marcus, who was named conference Player of the Year.

The Merchant Marine baseball team facilities are located at the Officer Candidate School, in Kings Point, New York. The team plays its home games at O’Hara Hall field, which is located on the OCS campus.

The Merchant Marine Baseball team has a very loyal and dedicated fan base. The team’s fans are some of the most passionate and enthusiastic in all of baseball. They love their team and are always cheering them on to victory.

The Team’s Media Coverage

The Merchant Marine Baseball Team does not get a lot of media coverage. The local papers will cover them if they re Playing a nearby team, but otherwise, they are pretty much off the radar. Even their home games are rarely well-attended. Nevertheless, the team soldiers on, playing their game and hoping that someday they will get the recognition they feel they deserve.

The Merchant Marine baseball team is a vital part of the school’s culture, and the team’s future is looking bright. The team has a strong core of young players and they are supported by a passionate fan base.
