The Road to Omaha

The Road to Omaha is the journey that college baseball teams take to get to the College World Series (CWS) in Omaha, Nebraska. It is widely considered the most difficult task in all of collegiate athletics. Only eight teams make it to Omaha every year, and they must win four best-of-three playoff series to do so.

The CWS has been held in Omaha annually since 1950, making it the longest-running sporting event in the city. It is also one of the most popular sporting events in the country, with attendance figures consistently ranking in the top five for all collegiate sporting events.

Mississippi State has been to Omaha five times in its history, most recently in 2013. The Bulldogs have a 4-5 record at the CWS, but they are one of only two teams from the state of Mississippi to ever make it to Omaha.

The Team

The Mississippi State baseball team is headed to Omaha for the College World Series! This is the Bulldogs’ first trip to the CWS since 2007, and the fans are excited to see their team compete for the title.

The Bulldogs are led by Head Coach John Cohen who has been at the helm since 2006. Cohen has a wealth of experience in college baseball having served as an Assistant Coach at Florida and Mississippi State before taking over as head coach at Kentucky. He knows what it takes to win in the CWS, and he’ll be looking to lead the Bulldogs to their first ever National Championship

The team is led by a group of talented seniors, who have been through the ups and downs of college baseball together. catcher Gavin Collins, shortstop Seth Heckart, and pitchers Jacob Lindgren and Ross Mitchell have all played vital roles in getting the team to this point. They’ll be looking to finish their careers on a high note in Omaha.

The Bulldogs have a tough road ahead of them if they want to win the College World Series but with a talented roster and a experienced Head Coach they have a chance to make some noise in Omaha.

The Fans

The fans of Mississippi State Baseball team are some of the most passionate and dedicated in the country. They have been known to travel far and wide to support their team, and they always bring their strong sense of community with them.

The History

The Mississippi State Baseball Team is headed to Omaha for the first time in program history! The Bulldogs earned their spot in the College World Series by winning the Baton Rouge Super Regional

This is a big deal not only for Mississippi State but for the state of Mississippi as a whole. The Rivalries

The Eastern Conference is widely considered the best baseball conference in the country. This is largely due to the fact that the SEC has more teams in the NCAA Baseball Tournament than any other conference. In 2018, an SEC team will once again be crowned National Champion as Mississippi State is headed to Omaha.

The Bulldogs are no strangers to Omaha, as they have made the trip eight times in school history. Mississippi State has never won a National Championship but they have come close on several occasions. In 2013, the Bulldogs lost to UCLA in the final game of the College World Series

MSU will have their work cut out for them if they want to win it all this year, as they will have to go through some of the best teams in the country. The Bulldogs will first have to get past their SEC rivals, LSU and Auburn LSU is currently ranked No. 1 in the country and Auburn is not far behind at No. 4. If Mississippi State can make it through those two teams, they will most likely have to face Florida or Arkansas in the final game of the College World Series

The Tradition

The tradition of Mississippi State baseball is one that dates back many years. The team has been to the College World Series a total of 17 times, won six SEC championships, and has produced numerous Major League Baseball players. This year, the team is once again headed to Omaha for the College World Series and fans are hopeful that they can bring home a seventh SEC title.

The Pride

Since 2014, the Mississippi State Baseball Team has been to Omaha four times. They are the only team in the nation to make it to the College World Series that many times in the last six years.

This year, they are headed back to Omaha for the fifth time in seven years. The team is made up of hard-working young men who have a passion for the Game of Baseball

The team is coached by Andy Cannizaro, who is in his third year as head coach Coach Cannizaro has led the team to new heights and has instilled a proud tradition in Mississippi State baseball
