NBA 2K21 Rookie Ratings: Who’s #1?

The 2020 NBA draft class was one of the most talented in recent memory.
Now that they’re in the league, it’s time to see how they stack up against each other in NBA 2K21.
We’ll be taking a look at the top 10 rookies in the game and their ratings.

Zion Williamson – the clear-cut number one

Zion Williamson is the clear-cut number one in the 2020 NBA Draft class. The former Duke Blue Devil was drafted first overall by the New Orleans Pelicans and he is expected to make an immediate impact in the league. Williamson is a physical specimen, standing at 6’7″ and weighing in at 285 pounds. He is an elite athlete with a rare combination of size, strength, explosiveness, and agility. Williamson is an elite rebounder and finisher around the basket, and he has the potential to be a dominant force on both ends of the floor.

The Pelicans are building their team around Williamson, and they are expected to be one of the most exciting young teams in the NBA. With Zion leading the way, the Pelicans have a bright future ahead of them.

Ja Morant – a close second

Ja Morant was a close second to Zion Williamson in the race for the best NBA 2K21 rookie rating. The Memphis Grizzlies point guard came in at an overall rating of 84, just one point behind Williamson.

RJ Barrett – third best rookie

NBA 2K21 is out, and with it comes the yearly release of Player Ratings This year, there are a lot of great rookies, but only one can be at the top. Here are the rookie ratings for NBA 2K21.

In third place is RJ Barrett of the New York Knicks Barrett was the third overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and he’s shown a lot of promise in his young career. He averaged 14 points per game last season, and he’s expected to be a big part of the Knicks’ future. His Rating in NBA 2K21 is a solid 77.

Behind Barrett is Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans Williamson was the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft and he’s one of the most hyped players in recent memory. He didn’t play much last season due to injury, but he’s expected to be a star in the league. His rating in NBA 2K21 is a 76.

The top rookie in NBA 2K21 is Lamelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets Ball was the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft and he’s already shown that he has superstar potential. He averaged 21 points per game last season, and he’s expected to be one of the best players in the league for years to come. His rating in NBA 2K21 is an 80.

Kendrick Nunn – a sleeper candidate

With the 2019-2020 NBA season now complete, it’s time to start looking ahead to next year. The 2020 NBA Draft will be held on Thursday, October 16th, and it will be followed by Free agency on November 20th. So, with that being said, let’s take an early look at the top rookies that will be coming into the league next season.

Kendrick Nunn – a sleeper candidate
Nunn is a 6’3” guard out of Oakland who went undrafted in 2018. He spent last season with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the G League and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player after averaging 24.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game He then signed a contract with the Miami Heat in April and appeared in four games with them during the regular season averaging 5.6 points in 18 minutes per game.

Nunn is an excellent scorer and shooter who has a chance to be a rotational player for the Heat next season. His rookie ratings have not been released yet, but he should be one of the better rookies in NBA 2K21.

Coby White – fifth best rookie

As the 2020 NBA Draft approaches, we take a look at the top five rated rookies in NBA 2K21.

Leading the pack is Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans followed by Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies Rounding out the top three is RJ Barrett of the New York Knicks

Fourth on the list is Coby White of the Chicago Bulls The sixth overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft White averaged 13.2 points and 3.5 assists per game as a rookie.

Fifth on our list is Tyler Herro of the Miami Heat Herro was a surprise first round pick in 2019, but he proved his worth with an impressive rookie season, averaging 13.5 points per game while shooting 37% from three-point range

Tyler Herro – sixth best rookie

In NBA 2K21, Tyler Herro is the sixth best rookie with an Overall Rating (OVR) of 79. The 20-year-old shooting guard out of Kentucky averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game during his rookie season with the Miami Heat

Bol Bol – seventh best rookie

Bol Bol is the seventh best rookie in NBA 2K21, according to the game’s official ratings. The 7’2″ center out of Oregon averaged 21 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks per game in his only college season, and shot an impressive 52% from three-point range.

In NBA 2K21, Bol Bol is rated an 80 overall, which puts him behind only Zion Williamson (93), Ja Morant (89), R.J. Barrett (86), Coby White (84), Tyler Herro (83) and Kendrick Nunn (82) among rookies.

It’s worth noting that these ratings are subject to change throughout the year, as players get adjusted to the NBA level and their real-life performances fluctuate.

Sekou Doumbouya – eighth best rookie

As the NBA season gets underway, all eyes are on the rookies. Who will make an impact? Who will be a bust?

One player who looks like he could be a very solid player is Sekou Doumbouya. The nineteen-year-old forward from Guinea was the eighth overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons

Doumbouya is listed at 6’9″ and 230 pounds. He has good size for an NBA small forward He also has a seven-foot wingspan.

Doumbouya is a very good athlete. He is quick and agile for his size. He has a 42-inch vertical leap. He is also strong and has good coordination.

Doumbouya is a good shooter. He shot 39 percent from three-point range in his one season in the French League He has a quick release and is a threat to take and make threes from anywhere on the court.

Doumbouya is also a good rebounder and blocker for his position. He averaged 5.9 rebounds per game and 1.2 blocks per game in the French League last season.

Dekker, Deandre Ayton Jaren Jackson Jr., Wendell Carter Jr., Marvin Bagley III Mohamed Bamba, Kevin Knox II – these are all rookies with more potential than Sekou Doumbouya according to NBA 2K21

Using the game’s player ratings system, we’ve compiled a list of the 10 best rookies in NBA 2K21. To no one’s surprise, consensus No. 1 pick Anthony Edwards is atop the list with a 76 Overall rating.

Rounding out the top three are No. 2 pick James Wiseman (75 Overall) and No. 3 pick Lamelo Ball (74 Overall).

Carsen Edwards – tenth best rookie

Carsen Edwards entered the 2020 NBA Draft as one of the draft’s most decorated collegiate scorers. Edwards played three seasons at Purdue, where he averaged 19.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 32.3 minutes per game while shooting 42.4 percent from the field, 37.4 percent from three-point range and 86.8 percent from the free-throw line He was named First Team All-Big Ten as a junior after leading the conference in scoring at 24.3 points per game
