The NBA All Decade Team: The Legacy

When discussing the greatest NBA players of all time, there are always going to be those who believe that only players from certain eras can be compared. This has led to the creation of many “all-time teams”, composed of the best players from specific periods in NBA history In 2010, the NBA decided to compile an official All-Decade Team for the 2000s, consisting of the 10 best players from the past 10 years.

So, who made the cut? The first two spots on the team were given to Shaquille O’Neal and Tim Duncan who were unanimously voted in by a panel of 124 experts. Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett were also unanimous selections, while Lebron James – who was in his first decade in the league – rounded out the starting five.

The remaining five spots on the team were filled by Dwyane Wade Steve Nash Jason Kidd Allen Iverson and Dirk Nowitzki All six of these players had illustrious careers during the 2000s and have since gone down as some of the greatest to ever play the game

The criteria for making the team are simple: players must have been active during the decade in question, and they must have been among the best at their position during that time. But with so many great players to choose from, it’s always a challenge to narrow it down to just ten.

This year, the debate is particularly intense, as there are a Number of players who could realistically make a case for being on the team. So who will make the cut? Here are a few of the leading contenders:
