NDSCS Basketball: A Team on the Rise

The North Dakota State College of Science men’s basketball team is having a breakout season. With a record of 23-3, they are currently ranked #1 in the nation in the NJCAA Division III

What’s behind this success? Head Coach Tim Friesen attributes it to the team’s hard work and dedication. “Our guys have really bought into what we’re trying to do,” he said. “They’re Playing for each other and they’re playing hard.”

In just a few short years, the North Dakota State College of Science men’s Basketball team has gone from an afterthought to one of the top programs in the Minnesota college Athletic Conference

led by head coach Jeff Kamrath, the Wildcats have made tremendous strides since he took over the program in 2016.

In his first year at the helm, NDSCS finished with an overall record of 12-16 and went 9-9 in conference play good for sixth place in the standings. The 12 wins were the most by an NDSCS team since the 2012-13 season.

The following year, Kamrath led the Wildcats to a 17-11 overall record and a 13-5 mark in conference play good for third place in the final standings. It was the first time since 2010-11 that NDSCS had finished with a winning record in conference play.

Last season, NDSCS took another big step forward, finishing with a 20-8 overall record and a 15-3 mark in conference play, good for second place in the final standings. The 20 wins were the most by an NDSCS team since 2009-10, while the 15 conference wins were the most since 2008-09.

This season, NDSCS is off to another strong start, as it currently boasts an overall record of 18-4 and a 14-2 mark in conference play. With four regular season games remaining, the Wildcats are currently riding a six-game Winning Streak and sit atop the Conference Standings

Clearly, under Kamrath’s leadership, NDSCS has become one of the top basketball programs in Minnesota. And with Kamrath at the helm, there is no reason to believe that success won’t continue for many years to come.

NDSCS Men’s Basketball is definitely a team on the rise. They are currently 20-9 overall and 13-5 in conference play. This is their best season yet under Head Coach Jay Schmidgall. They have improved each year under his leadership.

This team is led by a strong group of sophomores. Sam Nissen (West Fargo, ND) is averaging 16 points and 8 rebounds per game He was recently named the Most Valuable Player of the Mon-Dak conference tournament Nissen is joined by fellow sophomores Zac Retterath (Greenbush, MN), Drew Sannes (Barnesville, MN), and Brock Rerick (Madison, MN). These four have started every game for the Wildcats this season and have been big contributors to the team’s success.

The Wildcats have also gotten great production from their bench players Freshmen Mason Walters (Fargo, ND) and Jacob Zerr (Wahpeton, ND) have been key contributors all season long Walters is averaging 7 points per game while Zerr is averaging 5 points and 4 rebounds per game The Wildcats will need continued production from their bench if they want to make a run in the Region XIII Tournament which starts on March 3rd in Bismarck, ND.

The Wildcats are a young team with a bright future They have improved each year under Coach Schmidgall and should continue to do so in the years to come.

In just two years, the NDSCS men’s basketball team has seen a remarkable turnaround. From a record of 6-24 in the 2014-2015 season to 20-10 in the 2016-2017 season, the team has turned things around and is now one of the top teams in their conference.

much of the team’s success is due to their hard work and dedication, but Head coach Ty Harrelson has also been instrumental in their turnaround. In just his second year as head coach Coach Harrelson has instilled a new level of discipline and commitment in his team. His positive attitude and belief in his players has helped them to overcome adversity and take their game to the next level.

The future looks bright for NDSCS basketball, and with Coach Harrelson at the helm, there’s no telling how far this team can go.

In recent years NDSCS has become known as a destination for top High School recruits. The team has landed several top-100 recruits, and the talent level on the roster is rising. With this influx of talent, NDSCS is starting to attract attention from major college programs.

Player development has been a key focus for the NDSCS Coaching Staff The team has worked hard to improve its players’ skill sets and help them reach their full potential. This commitment to player development has paid off, as the team has seen significant improvement in recent years

NDSCS men’s Basketball team had a lot of success last season. They finished with a 27-5 record and won the conference championship This season, they have built on that success and are currently ranked #2 in the nation. The team is led by Senior point guard Tyler Hagedorn, who is averaging 21 points per game The team has high expectations and is looking to make a run at the National Championship

In recent years the North Dakota State College of Science men’s basketball team has seen a rise in both wins and losses.

In the 2016-2017 season, the team won 21 games and lost 9. The team made it to the NJCAA Region XIII Tournament Championship game but ultimately lost to Anoka Ramsey Community College

The 2017-2018 season was even more successful for the team. They won 27 games and lost 7. They made it to the NJCAA Region XIII Tournament Championship game again and this time, they won! The team then went on to compete in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament They made it to the Elite Eight before losing to eventual National Champion Owens Community College

This season, the team is off to another great start. They have won 12 games and lost 4 so far. With half of the season still left to play, the team has a good chance of making it back to post-season play once again.

Men’s basketball is on the rise at NDSCS. A team that has seen success in recent years, the 2016-17 season ended with a 20-11 record, the program’s first 20-win season since 2007-08. The team also qualified for the NJCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championship for the first time in 10 years – an incredible feat for a team that was just 4-22 two years ago.

In just their second season as a Division I Basketball Program the North Dakota State College of Science Wildcats have made great strides. With a young but talented roster, the team is poised to make noise in the conference for years to come.

This season, the Wildcats finished with a record of 15-14 overall and 8-8 in conference play. They improved upon their win total from last season and nearly doubled their conference win total. The team also showed significant improvement on the defensive end of the court, cutting their points allowed per game from 84.1 last season to 80.0 this season.

The team will return all five starters next season, as well as several key bench players. With another year of experience under their belts, this team could be ready to make a run at a conference title Thanks for following along this season, and we’ll see you next year!

NDSCS Basketball is a team on the rise in Section 8. The team has won 3 games in a row and is looking to continue their winning streak NDSCS is currently in 3rd place in Section 8 and is looking to move up in the standings.

NDSCS Basketball: A Team on the Rise- Section 9

NDSCS Basketball is a team on the rise. With a strong core of returners and some talented newcomers, the Wildcats are poised to make some noise in Section 9 this year.

Led by senior guard Jaden Klein, NDSCS will look to take advantage of its size and athleticism on both ends of the court. Klein is a versatile player who can score, rebound, and play defense at a high level. He will be joined by fellow seniors Marcus Humphrey and Brayden Duckworth in the starting lineup

Humphrey is a sharpshooter who will give the Wildcats another outside threat to complement Klein’s inside-outside game. Duckworth is a physical presence in the paint who brings a lot of energy and hustle to the court.

The Wildcats also have some younger players who are expected to make an impact this season. Freshman guard Treyton Mattern is an electrifying athlete with a high ceiling. He could be a breakout player for NDSCS this season. Sophomore big man Tanner Wroczenski has also shown flashes of potential and could see increased playing time this year.
