The NSU Baseball Team is made up of some of the most talented young athletes in the country. The infielders are no exception – they are some of the best defenders in the game and can also hit for power and average. Get to know these guys better so you can root for them on game day!

First up is third baseman Matt Williams A native of Georgia, Williams is one of the team’s most consistent hitters. He has a great eye for the ball and can hit for both power and average. He’s also a slick fielder, making him one of the most well-rounded infielders on the team.

Second baseman Alexei Ramirez is originally from Cuba. He defected in 2003 and came to the United States in 2004. He was drafted by the NSU baseball team in 2006 and has been with the team ever since. Ramirez is a two-time All-American and is considered one of the best defensive second basemen in the country.

Shortstop Danny Espinosa is another All-American on the team. He’s originally from California and was drafted by NSU in 2007. Espinosa is known for his great glove work and his strong arm. He’s also a capable hitter, with a career batting average of .304.

First baseman Jordan Lennerton rounds out the infield core. A native of Canada, Lennerton was drafted by NSU in 2009 after a successful collegiate career at Lansing Community College Lennerton is a big guy with a lot of power potential. He’s still developing as a hitter, but he has all the tools to be a force at the plate for years to come.

2. Jane Smith – Jane is a sophomore from Miami, Florida. She is a talented player who has a lot of experience playing competitively. She is also a great leader and motivator for her teammates.

3. Bob Jones – Bob is a senior from Fort Lauderdale Florida. He is one of the most experienced members of the team and has been playing baseball for many years. He is a great asset to the team and brings his knowledge and expertise to the outfield.

Jared Cheek enters his 12th season as head Athletic Trainer for NSU baseball, working closely with team physician Dr. James Andrews. He is a graduate of NSU and earned his Masters in Education from the University of Florida Mollie Daugherty is in her second season as assistant athletic trainer. She received her Bachelors in athletic training from James Madison University and her Masters in Education from Ohio State University Zach Salsbury is entering his first season as Strength and Conditioning coach. He is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University where he earned his Bachelors in Exercise Science.

NSU Baseball Roster Meet the Strength and Conditioning Staff

Joining the NSU Baseball team this season are three new strength and conditioning coaches.

Head strength and conditioning coach Jordan Newell comes to NSU after spending the past two seasons as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at his alma mater, UNC Wilmington Newell will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of all strength, power, speed, agility, mobility, and energy system training for the team.

Assistant strength and conditioning coach Austin Brooks joins the team after serving as a volunteer Assistant Coach at his alma mater, Gardner-Webb University. Brooks will work with NSU baseball players on their physical development and recovery strategies.

Rounding out the staff is performance specialist Internship Nate Frey, who will work with the team on their Mental Skills training. Frey has a Master’s Degree in Sport & Exercise Psychology from Mississippi State University.

The NSU Baseball Roster Meet the Academic Support Staff are comprised of professionals who are here to help student-athletes succeed in the classroom and on the baseball field They provide test prep, tutoring, mentoring, and academic advising services. The NSU Baseball Team is made up of a group of hard-working athletes who are dedicated to their sport. But behind every great team is a great administrative staff who works tirelessly to support the players and keep the team running smoothly. Leading the NSU baseball team is head coach Mark McNeill. Coach McNeill has been with the team for six years and has helped them to achieve a winning record in five of those seasons. Under his leadership, the team has won two conference championships and made three appearances in the NCAA tournament

Assisting Coach McNeill is assistant coach Ryan Watson. Coach Watson has been with the team for four years and brings a wealth of knowledge about the Game of Baseball He has helped the team to improve their hitting and fielding, and his insights have been invaluable to the Coaching Staff

Rounding out the coaching staff is Pitching Coach Mike Wooden. Coach Wooden joined the team last year and has already made a significant impact on the pitching staff. His experience and knowledge have helped the pitchers to develop into one of the strongest groups on the team.

The administrative staff of NSU baseball is dedicated to supporting the players and coaches in any way possible. From handling logistics to providing moral support, they are an essential part of maintaining a successful program. Get to know them better with this brief introduction.

Leading the administrative staff is Athletics Director John Doe. Athletic Director Doe has been with NSU for eight years and oversees all aspects of athletics at the university. Assisting Athletic Director Doe is Associate Athletics Director Jane Smith . Associate Athletics Director Smith has been with NSU for five years and oversees all aspects of athletics administration . She works closely with Athletic Director Doe to ensure that all athletics programs are run smoothly . Smith also works closely with NSU’s student-athletes, providing guidance and support as they navigate their academic and athletic careers .
