Oswego Hockey Roster

The Oswego Hockey Team is comprised of students from all across North America ranging in age from 18 to 23 years old. The team is co-ed, with 12 female and 12 male students. Each student brings a unique set of skills and experience to the team, which helps contribute to the team’s overall success.

In addition to their academics, each student on the team is passionate about hockey. This passion drives them to compete at the highest level and work hard every day to improve their skills.

The Oswego Hockey Team is committed to providing its students with a memorable and successful college experience. They work hard on and off the ice to make sure that their students have everything they need to succeed both academically and athletically.

New Players

This season, the Oswego Hockey team has welcomed six new players to the roster. Here’s a quick guide to getting to know them.

Forwards
Sophia Balducci – A native of Oswego, NY, Balducci is a sophomore transfer from Nazareth College. She is a skilled forward who brings speed and scoring ability to the Lakers offense.

Maddie Brach – A native of Bemidji, MN, Brach is a freshman forward who comes to Oswego State with a strong hockey pedigree. The daughter of former NHL player Brian Brach, Maddie is a gifted skater with great vision on the ice.

Defensemen
Katelyn diDomenico – A freshman defenseman from Eden Prairie MN, diDomenico comes to Oswego State highly touted by her coaches and teammates. She is a smart, steady player with good puck-moving ability.

Emma Gagliardi – A sophomore transfer from Niagara University Gagliardi is a native of Williamsville, NY. She is a physical defenseman who uses her size and strength to her advantage in the defensive zone.

Goalies
Mikayla Capelle – A freshman goalie from Brockville, Ontario, Capelle comes to Oswego State with plenty of Junior hockey experience. She is a tall goaltender with good reflexes and skating ability.

Returning Players

The Oswego hockey team is made up of student-athletes from all over the world, representing many different countries and cultures. The team is united by their passion for the game and their commitment to excellence. Here is a look at some of the returning players for the 2019-2020 Season

Forwards
– Senior captain Mitchiet “Bam Bam” Baudinette is a dynamic offensive player who led the team in scoring last season. A native of Canada, Bam Bam is a fan favorite and always seems to come up big in the big games.

– Junior Andrew Barton is a Power Forward who uses his size and strength to create space for his teammates. A native of Australia, Barton is a physical presence on the ice and is not afraid to mix it up.

– Sophomore Tyler Heineman is a skilled playmaker with great vision and hockey IQ. A native of the United States Heineman is one of the team’s most talented young players and will be counted on to produce offensively this season.

Defensemen
– Senior captain Nate Horst is a shutdown defenseman who takes pride in his defensive game. A native of Canada, Horst is a leader on and off the ice and has been with the program for four years.

– Junior Ryan Swanson is a two-way defenseman who plays an active role at both ends of the ice. A native of Sweden, Swanson is an excellent skater with good instincts defensively.

– Sophomore Sam Hillis is an emerging young defenseman with great upside. A native of Canada, Hillis has good size and is continuing to develop his all-around game.

Oswego Hockey Schedule

The Oswego Hockey Schedule is filled with traditional powerhouse programs that the team will face off against this season. With such a demanding schedule, the Lakers will have to be at the top of their game if they want to make it to the NCAA tournament Some of the teams that Oswego will face off against include Clarkson, Cornell, Penn State and St. Lawrence.

Oswego Hockey Results

Oswego Hockey is a NCAA Division III Ice Hockey team that represents Oswego State University The team is a member of the SUNYAC conference and plays its home games at the Campus Center Ice Arena. The program was established in 1971 and has won two conference championships in 1979 and 1981.

The Lakers are currently coached by Ed Gosek, who is in his sixth season behind the bench for Oswego. Gosek has led the team to two SUNYAC tournament appearances, in 2016 and 2018. The 2018 team made it to the Championship game where they lost to Geneseo by a score of 2-1.

Oswego Hockey Standings

As of the 2019-2020 season the Oswego Lakers are in first place in the SUNYAC conference with a conference record of 9-1-2. The Lakers are also first in the nation in Division III Hockey with a 20-2-2 overall record. The team is led by Head Coach Ed Gosek and assistant coaches Nick Carriere and Ryan Egan.

The Lakers have four seniors on their roster: Forwards Connor Morley, David Jankowski, Luke Moodie, and Defensemen Alec Buttitta. They have four juniors: Forwards Brock Labelle, Michael Ranalli, Luke Johnson, and Defensemen Peter MacIntyre. There are also three sophomores: Forwards Tyler Papaioannou, Steven Ruggiero, and Defenseman Anthony Passero. Finally, they have one freshman: Forward Zachary Vrieze.

Oswego Hockey Tickets

The Oswego hockey team is made up of student-athletes who are committed to excel both on and off the ice. The team is led by head coach Tony Family, who has been with the team since its inception in 2006. The team competes in Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and is a member of the Northeast Women’s Hockey League (NEWHL). The Oswego Lakers have won 5 NCAA Division III National Championships and 7 NEWHL Championships.

Oswego Hockey News

Oswego State Hockey announced its 28-man roster for the 2020-21 season. The Lakers will have 14 forwards, including seven who could be considered veterans, 11 defensemen and three goalies.

This season’s team will have 13 players who are new to the roster, including five freshmen and eight transfers. The Lakers lost eight players from last year’s squad to graduation, leaving them with 15 returners.

Oswego Hockey Merchandise

The Oswego Mens’ Ice hockey team has been a Division I program since the 2007-2008 season. The team competes in the college hockey American conference and is a part of the Atlantic Hockey Association. The team plays its home games at the LECOM Harborcenter in Buffalo, New York.

The team has made one NCAA Tournament appearance in 2015. The team’s Head Coach is Ed Gosek, who is in his 11th season with the program. Gosek played collegiate hockey at Clarkson University from 1982-1986, and he was also an Assistant Coach at his alma mater from 1988-1996.

Oswego Hockey Community

Oswego hockey is a community based around the love for the game. The roster is full of names you might not recognize, but each player has their own story of how they got to where they are today. Here are some of the players you’ll see on the ice this season.

Forwards
-Tyler Bertuzzi: A native of Sudbury, Ontario, Tyler is in his second season with the team. He leads the team in scoring with 21 goals and 26 assists so far this season.
-Tanner Kero: A Michigan native, Tanner is a junior on the team. He’s been with Oswego since his freshman year and has tallied 15 goals and 18 assists so far this season.
-Brock Boeser: A Minnesota native, Brock is a freshman on the team. He’s tallied 12 goals and 9 assists in his first season with Oswego.

Defensemen
-Zach Parisi: A New Jersey native, Zach is a sophomore on the team. He’s tallied 3 goals and 8 assists so far this season.
– Connor Herson: A New York native, Connor is a freshman on the team. He’s tallied 1 goal and 6 assists so far this season.
