What Southern Miss Basketball Fans Need to Know

Southern Miss fans, here’s what you need to know about the upcoming basketball season!

Upcoming Schedule

The University of Southern Mississippi men’s basketball team schedule has been announced for the 18-19 season The Golden Eagles will open the season at home against Southeast Missouri State on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Southern Miss will play a total of 30 regular season games, with 17 at home and 13 on the road. The Golden Eagles will face off against Conference USA opponents UTEP, Old Dominion, Charlotte, WKU, Marshall, UAB, Florida Atlantic FIU and North Texas Southern Miss will also host non-conference games against Nicholls State Southeastern Louisiana McMurry University and Concordia College Selma.

The Conference USA tournament will be held March 13-16 at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

The Southern Miss Golden Eagles men’s Basketball team is the basketball team that represents the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The school’s team currently competes in Conference USA They are currently coached by Jay Ladner.

Player Spotlight

In this, the final installment of our player spotlight series, we will be shining a light onour very own Dwayne Johnson. What Southern Miss fans may not know is that Dwayne is quite the player to watch on the court.

Dwayne Johnson was born and raised in Mississippi. He started playing basketball at a young age and continued to develop his skills throughout his High School career. He played collegiately at Southern Miss from 2014-2018.

During his time with the Golden Eagles Dwayne developed into one of the best players in Conference USA He was named First team All-Conference USA in his senior year after averaging 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game

Dwayne Johnson is a 6’5” guard/forward who has the ability to play both inside and out. He is an excellent shooter, both from long range and from the Free Throw Line He is also a very good rebounder for his size and has the ability to put up big numbers in that category when needed.

What makes Dwayne such a special player is his versatility. Not only can he shoot and rebound, but he is also an excellent passer with great vision on the court. He has the ability to create for himself and for others, which makes him a nightmare for opposing defenses.

If you’re looking for a player to watch during this year’s Basketball season make sure to keep an eye on Dwayne Johnson. He has everything you could want in a player and he always seems to come up big when it matters most.

Game Highlights

As the season comes to a close, let’s take a look at some of the game highlights:
-In their last game against Louisiana Tech Southern Miss was down by as much as 15 points in the first half. However, they showed their resilience and stormed back in the second half to win the game by a score of 72-69.
-Just a few days prior, Southern Miss had an overtime thriller against Marshall. The Golden Eagles were down by 3 with less than 10 seconds left, but they were able to force overtime and eventually win the game 94-88.
-One of the most impressive things about this team has been their ability to come back late in games. They’ve done it multiple times this season, and it’s one of the things that make them so fun to watch.

Looking ahead to next season, there are a lot of reasons to be optimistic. With most of the core group of players returning, Southern Miss should be primed for another successful year.

· Our new Head Coach is Doc Sadler, who comes to us from UTEP. He has a lot of experience coaching in the NCAA and we’re excited to have him leading our team.

· We have a young and talented team this year, with several new faces. We’re confident that they will represent Southern Miss well and make us proud.

· We want to provide our fans with the best possible experience, so we have a few initiatives in place for this season. First, we’ve created a dedicated fan zone at our games, where you can meet other fans and get information about the team. Additionally, we’ll be giving away free t-shirts at every Home game and we’ll also have special promotions and giveaways throughout the season.

Even if you’re not a sports fan chances are you’ve been to a tailgate or two. And if you have, then you know that tailgating is as much about the food as it is about the game. Here are some tips on how to make your tailgate a success.

Plan ahead: Decide what you’re going to make and buy all of your ingredients the day before. This will save you time and hassle the day of the game.

Set up early: If you’re tailgating at an outdoor venue, set up your grill and seating area well in advance so you can relax and enjoy the game.

Bring snacks: Even if you’re grilling burgers or hot dogs it’s always a good idea to have some snacks on hand in case someone gets hungry. Chips, pretzels, and nuts are always a hit.

This year, the Golden Eagles are back in the big dance for the first time since 2015. They will take on Florida State in the first round on Thursday, March 15. Here’s what you need to know about USM and their chances in the tournament.
