The Syracuse basketball team has landed two big recruits for the 2019-2020 season.

Five-star center Bourama Sidibe committed to the Orange on Monday evening, giving Syracuse one of the best frontcourt players in the country. Sidibe is ranked No. 34 in the ESPN 100 for the 2019 class.

Sidibe joins four-star small forward Quincy Guerrier as part of Syracuse’s 2019 recruiting class Guerrier, who is from Montreal, is ranked No. 69 in the ESPN 100 for 2019.

Syracuse Basketball is a Division I college basketball program that competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The Syracuse Orange are currently coached by Jim Boeheim. The Orange have an all-time record of 2,023–1,161, with a winning percentage of .635. Syracuse has appeared in 49 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournaments The Orange have won five National Championships in 1956, 1970, 1987, 1996 and 2003.

The Syracuse Basketball team has been busy on the recruiting trail adding four-star guard Brycen Goodine and three-star center John Bol Ajak to the 2019 class.

Syracuse also has two recruits in the 2020 class, five-star guard Jalen Duren and four-star forward Dior Johnson.

To begin, let’s take a look at the guards that have been recruited for the upcoming season Syracuse has recruited a total of four guards so far, three of which are from within the state of New York.

The first is Joe Girard III, from Glens Falls, NY. Girard is a 6’2″ shooting guard who is ranked as the number one player in New York State and the 12th best shooting guard in the nation according to 247Sports. He has been receiving interest from numerous Division I schools but has yet to commit to any of them.

Next is Brycen Goodine, from Cambridge, MA. Goodine is a 6’4″ shooting guard who is ranked as the number two player in Massachusetts and the 36th best shooting guard in the nation according to 247Sports. He has offers from several schools, but his top three are Syracuse, Pittsburgh, and Marquette.

The third New York guard Syracuse has recruited is Jalen Carey, from Newark, NJ. Carey is a 6’3″ point guard who is ranked as the number one player in New Jersey and the 10th best point guard in the nation according to 247 ESPN. He has offers from many schools but is still considering all of his options.

The last recruited guard for Syracuse basketball’s 2019-2020 season is Quinton Griggs, from Lithonia, GA. Griggs is a 6’5″ point guard who ranks as Georgia’s number two player and 39th best point forward in the nation according to 247Sports. His top five schools include Syracuse, Auburn, Florida State Georgia Tech and Memphis.

Syracuse will also have three new forwards joining their team for the 2019-2020 season Recruiting services have not released their final rankings for 2019 yet but all three forwards come from within ESPN’s top 100 players of 2019. The first forward recruit comes from Woody Newton Jr., hailing form Greensboro NC. He currently attends Word of God Christian Academy where he averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds per game last season while leading his team to a 27-5 record overall and was named to both The Associated Press All-State team as well as North Carolina’s all-region team 3A West honors. The second forward hails form Denton Guyer High School just outside of Dallas TX., Andre Wilson comes in at 6-7 235 pounds he was rated as high as No 34 nationally before breaking his wrist which caused him to miss AAU action this past summer . When fully healthy Wilson should give Syracuse an athletic big man that can block shots , run like deer ,and rebound at high level . The last but not least member of this forward group comes in form Oak Hill academy ,a storied program that has produced numerous NBA players . Anthony Nelson ,a 6-7 205 pound small forward originally committed Boston College before decommitting and opening up his recruitment back up again shortly thereafter , he brings with him an extremely versatile skill set that enable him to play multiple positions on both ends of floor with ease thanks largely intangibles like an extremely high motor which allows him to make plays that most other players wouldn’t be able too

Syracuse Basketball Head Coach Jim Boeheim and his staff are looking to continue their recent success on the recruiting trail as they look to add talent to the roster for the 2019-2020 season. While the Orange lost some Key Players to graduation and the NBA draft they are bringing in a talented group of newcomers that should help them compete for another ACC title. Here is a look at some of the top recruits that will be suiting up for Syracuse next season:

Guard Joe Girard III: The highest-rated recruit in Syracuse history, Girard is a dynamic scorer that can put up points in a hurry. He should have no trouble adjusting to the college game and will be one of the Top Players in the ACC from Day 1.

Forward Brycen Goodine: A versatile forward that can play both inside and out, Goodine is a very good rebounder and has a knack for scoring around the basket. He should see significant minutes as a freshman and could develop into one of Syracuse’s best players down the road.

Center Jesse Edwards: A big body in the middle, Edwards is a physical player that can clog up the paint on defense. He’s still developing offensively, but has shown flashes of potential with his ability to finish around the basket. Edwards should be a key piece of Syracuse’s rotation next season.

The Syracuse Men’s Basketball Program has landed four recruits for the 2019-2020 season.

The class is headlined by three-star point guard Joe Girard III, the All-time leading scorer in New York State high school history. Girard, who hails from Glens Falls, New York, chose the Orange over Michigan State Notre Dame and Pittsburgh.

Syracuse also picked up a commitment from three-star small forward Quincy Guerrier, who is originally from Montreal, Quebec. Guerrier chose Syracuse over offers from Florida State Iowa State Providence and UConn.

The Orange’s 2019 recruiting class also includes two-star center John Bol Ajak and three-star shooting guard Brycen Goodine. Ajak is a native of Australia who play his high school basketball at Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut, while Goodine hails from Everett, Massachusetts.
