In recent years the University of Central Oklahoma’s men’s Basketball team has been on the rise, becoming a contender in the NCAA Division II ranks. The team is coming off a historic 2017-18 Season in which they claimed their first-ever NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball National Championship and they show no signs of slowing down.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Santino Sanchez, the Uco mens basketball team has seen a tremendous amount of success in recent years The team has won four consecutive Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) regular season titles and three MIAA tournament championships, cementing their place as one of the top teams in Division II.

The Uco mens Basketball team has also seen success in the NCAA tournament reaching the Elite Eight in 2016 and 2017 before finally claiming the National Championship in 2018. The team is made up of a talented group of players, including two-time MIAA Player of the Year Martez Hunter and MIAA Defensive Player of the Year Jordan Epps.

With Sanchez at the helm and a core group of players returning for the 18-19 season there is no reason to believe that Uco Mens Basketball will not be contending for another National Championship
