Unc Men’s Basketball: 2018 in Review

As the 2017-18 Season comes to a close, let’s take a look back at what was a very successful year for the UNC Men’s basketball team

The team’s overall performance this season

The UNC Men’s Basketball team had a great season this year, compiling a 29-7 record and making it to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament The team was led by junior guard Joel Berry II, who averaged 17.1 points per game Senior forward Theo Pinson also played a big role, averaging 10.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game

The Tar Heels started the season off strong, winning their first 13 games. Some of their notable wins included a 103-100 overtime victory against then-No. 3 Michigan State at home and a 74-69 road win against then-No. 9 Tennessee. In early January, UNC suffered its first loss of the season, falling 79-70 to Florida State in Tallahassee.

The Tar Heels would Bounce Back from that loss, winning 12 of their next 13 games. They then entered the ACC tournament as the No. 2 seed and won two games before losing to eventual champion Duke in the semifinals, 82-78. The team’s biggest rivals this season
