The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s Basketball team is set to begin their season soon, and we wanted to introduce you to the talented roster that will be taking the court! Below are brief bios for each of the UTC Mocs, so you can get to know them a little better before cheering them on.

Tommy Hudson – Guard
A native of Chattanooga, Tommy is a junior guard who is known for his Three-point shooting He redshirted his first year at UTC and has since made great strides, becoming one of the team’s most reliable shooters.

Jerry Johnson Jr. – Guard
Also from Chattanooga, Jerry is a freshman guard who is known for his quickness and agility. He is a versatile player who can contribute on both Offense and defense

Jalen Gilbert – Forward
Jalen is a sophomore forward from Nashville, Tennessee. He is an explosive player who excels in transition and loves to get out and run in transition. He is also a very good rebounder.

Who are the UTC Mocs?

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s basketball team is composed of 11 players from all around the country. They range in height from 6’3″ to 6’10” and weigh in at an average of 200 pounds. This group of young men has bonded together to create a competitive, fun-loving team that is set on winning the Southern conference title

What can the UTC Mocs do on the court?

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s Basketball team is composed of student-athletes who are committed to success on and off the court. The team’s goal is to win the Southern conference championship and punch their ticket to the NCAA tournament

The Mocs are led by Head Coach Lamont Paris, who is in his second season at UTC. He has a career record of 61-41 (.598), which includes a 32-20 (.615) mark in his first season with the Mocs. Coach Paris has guided UTC to back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 2011-12 and 2012-13.

Offensively, the Mocs are averaging 74.0 points per game while shooting 45.1 percent from the field, 31.9 percent from three-point range and 69.2 percent from the Free Throw Line Defensively, UTC is allowing 71.4 points per game and opponents re shooting 43.5 percent from the field, 34.5 percent from three-point range, and 72.4 percent from the free throw line

The UTC Mocs roster is composed of student athletes who have a commitment to excellence both on and off the court. The team goal is to win the Southern Conference Championship and advance to the NCAA tournament

How do the UTC Mocs stack up against their opponents?

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s basketball team is set to begin their season on November 5th. The team is coming off a successful 18-15 campaign in which they made it to the semi-finals of the Southern conference tournament The Mocs will be looking to build on that success this season with a roster filled with experience and talent.

Head coach Matt McCall returns for his fourth season at the helm of the program. He will be relying on a core of experienced players, including senior guard Rodney Chatman and junior forward David Jean-Baptiste. Chatman was named to the All-SoCon second team last season after averaging 14 points and four assists per game Jean-Baptiste is a versatile forward who can shoot from long range and is a good rebounder. He averaged 11 points and five rebounds per game last season.

The Mocs will also have several newcomers who are expected to make an impact, including junior college transfer Ja’Von Harrison and freshman guard Trey Jellyman. Harrison is a 6’5″ guard who averaged 17 points per game last season at Motlow State Community College Jellyman is a 6’3″ guard from Australia who was ranked as one of the top prospects in his country.

With a mix of experienced veterans and talented newcomers, the UTC Mocs are primed for another successful season

What is the UTC Mocs’ basketball schedule?

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s Basketball Schedule was released on October 18, 2019. The schedule features 16 home games including matchups with in-state rivals Tennessee and Memphis. The team will also travel to play against Texas Tech a Final Four team last season.

What are the UTC Mocs’ basketball rivalries?

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s basketball team represents the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in NCAA Division I competition. The Mocs (formerly the Chattanooga Moccasins) compete in the Southern Conference and play their home games at McKenzie Arena. As of 2019, UTC has played in 21 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournaments winning the SoCon Tournament Championship a record 16 times. They most recently played in 2019, their first appearance since 2005.

The Mocs have appeared in three NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Tournaments and one NAIA Men’s Basketball Tournament UTC has also participated in four NCAA Division I Women’s basketball tournaments (the first in 1977), two AIAW Women’s basketball tournaments and four Women’s National Invitation Tournaments (WNIT). The Lady Mocs Basketball Program is currently coached by head coach Katie Burrows.

The school’s main rivals are Eastern Kentucky University and Murray State University
