In his 12 seasons with the Badgers, Davis helped lead the team to six NCAA tournament appearances, including two Sweet Sixteen appearances and one Elite Eight appearance. He also helped develop numerous players who went on to have successful careers in the NBA, including Monta Ellis, Devin Harris, Al Jefferson, and Josh Smith

Davis’ retirement comes as a surprise to many, as he had recently signed a contract extension with Wisconsin that was set to run through the 2020-21 season. However, Davis says that he feels it is time for him to move on to the next phase of his life.

I have truly enjoyed my time here and will always cherish the memories I have made with my colleagues and players.”
