The Buckeyes season started out with a convincing win over Wright State but they would drop their next four games all against ranked opponents. After losing to No. 3 Duke, then-No. 10 Louisville, No. 9 North Carolina and No. 2 Kansas, Ohio State righted the ship with a win over VMI. The Buckeyes would then go on to win 12 of their next 13 games, including signature wins over No. 8 Michigan State and No. 7 Wisconsin.
