The Eastern Conference
The Eastern Conference is made up of the following teams: the Indiana Pacers the Miami Heat the Charlotte Bobcats the Chicago Bulls the Brooklyn Nets the Washington Wizards the Toronto Raptors and the Atlanta Hawks
The first round of playoffs will feature the following match-ups:
--Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat
-Charlotte Bobcats vs. Chicago Bulls
--Brooklyn Nets vs. Washington Wizards
--Toronto Raptors vs. Atlanta Hawks
The second round of playoffs will feature the following match-ups:
-(1) Indiana Pacers vs. (5) Brooklyn Nets
-(2) Miami Heat vs. (3) Charlotte Bobcats
-(4) Chicago Bulls vs. (6) Toronto Raptors or (4) Chicago Bulls vs. (7) Atlanta Hawks
The Western Conference
The 2014 NBA playoffs began on April 19, 2014. It will conclude with the 2014 NBA Finals in June. ESPN released their final power rankings on April 16. The Western Conference has the top 4 seeds from the West.
The NBA Finals
The NBA Finals is the annual Championship Series of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Eastern and Western Conference champions play a best-of-seven game series to determine the league champion. The winning team of the series receives the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy, which replaced the Walter A. Brown Trophy in 1983.
Since 1966, the league has used a 2–3–2 home/away format for the Finals, meaning that one team will hold home-court advantage in games 1, 2, 6, and 7, while the other plays at home in games 3, 4, and 5. The first two games are played at home court of the team with home court advantage and then games 3 to 7 are played in a row at neutral sites. When the series reaches a fifth game (at which point both teams have played three games at home and three on the road), if necessary games 6 and 7 are again played in a row at each team’s respective home court
The Conference Semifinals
The Conference Semifinals are the second round of the NBA Playoffs The Semifinals matched up the winner of each of the first round series (the conference quarterfinals) in two best-of-seven series with the winners advancing to the conference finals The Conference Finals then featured the two remaining teams in a best-of-seven series with the winner of that series advancing to the NBA Finals
The Conference Finals
The Conference Finals for the 2014 NBA Playoffs are finally here. The Western Conference Finals features the top two seeds in the conference, the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder The series is a rematch of last year’s Western Conference Finals, which the Spurs won in six games. The Eastern Conference Finals features the Indiana Pacers and the Miami Heat The Pacers are the top seed in the East, while the Heat are the second seed. This will be the fourth meeting between these two teams in the playoffs since 2012.
The NBA Playoffs
The NBA playoffs are a best-of-seven elimination tournament among the eight first-place teams in the Western and Eastern Conferences. The Conference Quarterfinals are best-of-seven series, followed by the Conference Semifinals, conference finals and finally the NBA Finals

The 2014 NBA draft was held on June 26, 2014, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It followed the 2013–14 NBA season and was the first draft of the second season of the National Basketball Association (NBA) since the 1951 NBA Draft
The NBA All-Star Game
The 63rd NBA All-Star game was played on February 16, 2014, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. This game was televised on TNT for the 17th consecutive year. The game returned to New Orleans for the first time since 2008; it had previously been held there in 2014, when the city hosted its first All-Star Game The Western Conference won 138-133, earning a record-tying 22nd consecutive win. Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans led all scorers with 52 points, breaking Wilt Chamberlain’s record for points in an All-Star Game by a rookie. He also broke Chamberlain’s record for most field goals made in an All-Star Game with 26.
The NBA Season
The National Basketball Association (NBA) is the world’s top Professional Basketball league. Comprising 30 teams – 29 in the United States and 1 in Canada – the NBA plays an 82-game regular season from October to April, followed by a playoffs tournament leading to the NBA Finals

The NBA off-season is the time period between the last game of the NBA Finals and the following season’s training camp This period includes various stages of player movement including Free agency a brief period where teams can sign free agents trades, the NBA Draft and summer leagues.
