8th Grade Basketball Rankings

The NBA has released their annual rankings for the upcoming 8th grade season, which is when players are eligible to be drafted by professional teams. There are a lot of changes in this year’s rankings, with some players moving up and others moving down the list.

The 8th grade basketball rankings 2026 is a list of the top 20 8th grade basketball teams in the United States The list was released by ESPN this week.

The ESPN 25 eighth grade Basketball Rankings are out, and there are a lot of familiar names at the top. The Class of 2025 is loaded with talent, and these are the 25 best players in the country.

1. Mikey Williams He is the number one player in the country for a reason. Williams is a 63 combo guard who can score from anywhere on the court. He has great vision and is an excellent passer. Williams is a once in a generation talent.

2. Amari Bailey Bailey is a 65 wing who is an elite scorer. He can shoot from anywhere on the court and has great body control. Bailey is also a very good rebounder for his size.

3. Dior Johnson- Johnson is a 64 point guard who is one of the best floor generals in the country. He has great vision and always seems to make the right play. Johnson is also an excellent shooter from long range.

4. Kennedy Chandler Chandler is a 61 point guard who is an elite level scorer. He can get to the basket at will and finish through contact. Chandler is also an excellent three-point shooter.

5 Jalen Duren- Duren is a 610 Power Forward who dominates the paint on both ends of the court. He has great hands and can finish with either hand around the basket. Duren is also an excellent rebounder and shot blocker

The 8th grade regional basketball rankings have been released by ESPN. The top ranked player in the class is youth1. He is a 6’8″ small forward who plays for the ABC Blue Chips AAU team He is a very good all around player with great shooting range and excellent ball handling skills.

4. Zion Harmon- A 5’11” PG that is one of the best shot makers in the class. He is ranked number four by most recruiting services.

5. Terrence Edwards- A 6’7″ PF that is a really good rebounder and shot blocker for his size. He is ranked number five by most recruiting services

The class of 2020 is loaded with top-ranked players. But who are the best of the best? ESPN RISE has ranked the top 100 eighth-graders of all time.

1. Lebron James | Akron, Ohio | St. Vincent-St. Mary’s

Arguably the most talented player ever, James was a can’t-miss prospect from the moment he stepped on a basketball court He led his team to three straight State Championships and was named Ohio’s Mr. Basketball as a freshman in high school James went on to win two NBA titles with the Miami Heat and is currently regarded as the best player in the world.

2. Kobe Bryant | Lower Merion Pa. | Lower Merion

Bryant was a highly touted recruit from an early age and lived up to the hype, becoming one of the greatest players in NBA history He won five championships with the Los Angeles Lakers and was named NBA Finals MVP twice. Bryant also won an Olympic gold medal as a member of Team USA in 2008.

3. Kevin Durant | Washington, D.C. | Montrose Christian

Durant burst onto the scene as a freshman in high school and quickly established himself as one of the elite players in his class. He went on to win two NCAA titles with Texas and was named National Player of the Year as a sophomore before being drafted No. 2 overall by the Seattle SuperSonics in 2007. Durant is now a five-time NBA All-Star and was named MVP in 2014 after leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to the NBA Finals

4. Carmelo Anthony | Baltimore, Md., Towson Catholic

Anthony was one of the most decorated high school players ever, winning national player of the year honors as a senior while leading Towson Catholic to a perfect 27-0 record. He went on to win an NCAA title with Syracuse before being drafted No. 3 overall by the Denver Nuggets in 2003. Anthony is now a 10-Ime Nba All-Star and Olympic gold medalist who currently plays for the New York Knicks

The ESPN 60 is a list that ranks the top 60 high school basketball prospects in the class of 2020. These rankings are compiled by ESPN’s recruiting team and take into account a player’s potential, skill and physical attributes. The top ranked player in the ESPN 60 is Cade Cunningham a 6-7 point guard from Texas.

With excitement surrounding the game of basketball at an all-time high, youth1 has decided to take a closer look at 8th grade basketball rankings by class.

In order to be eligible for our 8th grade basketball rankings, a player must be currently enrolled in the 8th grade and cannot turn 15 before September 1, 2021. Our player pool consists of student-athletes from across the United States

The class of 2025 is loaded with talented players from all over the country. While some players might be better than others at this stage in their development, its important to remember that rankings are fluid and should be taken with a grain of salt. Players will move up and down our rankings as they progress through their high school career.

That being said, our team of experts have put together our initial list of the top players in the country in the class of 2025. These rankings will be updated on a regular basis as we continue to receive new information on players throughout the country.

As the Basketball season starts to heat up, we take a look at the top players in each conference. These rankings are based on ESPN scouting reports and game film.

1. class of 2020 shooting guard Matthew Edwards from Seattle, WA is the top-ranked player in the nation. He is a 5-star recruit and has offers from Duke, UCLA, and Kentucky.

2. place goes to power forward Harrison Ingram from Dallas, TX. He is a 6-foot-7 big man who can shoot from anywhere on the floor. He has offers from Kansas, Texas, and UCLA.

3. Jaylen Blakesly comes in at third. The 6-foot-5 guard from Los Angeles CA is one of the best scorers in his class. He has offers from Duke, USC, and UCLA.

8th Grade Basketball Rankings- By State Tournament

The ESPN 25 youth basketball rankings for the 8th grade class of 2025 takes into account past performance and potential future success in High School and beyond. In addition to looking at a player’s skill set, the rankings also factor in things like size, strength, speed, athleticism and upside. The goal is to identify the best players in the class, not necessarily the ones who are currently the most successful.

The ESPN 25 youth basketball rankings are compiled by ESPN recruiting analysts Jamie Shaw and Cory Bergman.
