The following year, Sierra Canyon won its first-ever section championship, defeating Mater Dei in the Division IAA title game. The team followed that up with another trip to the semifinals in 2013 and a CIF-SS Division I title in 2014.

Now in his fifth season at the helm, Coach Nichols has continued to build Sierra Canyon into a national power. The team is currently ranked No. 2 in the country by ESPN and features five-star recruits Cassius Stanley and Ziaire Williams.
