UW Oshkosh Men’s Basketball: A New Season Begins

New Season, New Team

The UW Oshkosh men’s basketball team is embarking on a new season with a new Head Coach and a new attitude. Coach Matt Lewis is inheriting a team that went 8-21 last season and is eager to turn things around. “We’ve got a lot of work to do, but I like where we’re at,” said Lewis. “We’ve got a lot of young guys who are willing to learn and work hard.”

The Titans will have their work cut out for them in the competitive WIAC, but they are confident they can compete with anyone. “We’re not going to back down from anyone,” said senior guard BJ Bass. “We know what we’re capable of and we’re going to go out there and show it.”

New Additions to the Team

This season, the UW Oshkosh men’s Basketball team welcomes several new additions to the program.

The team’s roster includes four freshmen and one transfer student. The newcomers come from a variety of backgrounds and will add depth to the team’s bench.

The freshmen are Jack Breen, a 6’4″ guard from De Pere, Wis.; Luke Worthington, a 6’8″ forward from Merrill, Wis.; Sam Rubeck, a 6’1″ guard from Pulaski, Wis.; and Andrew Schroeder, a 6’7″ forward from Green Bay Wis.

The lone transfer student is Alex Courteau, a 6’5″ forward who joins the Titans after spending two seasons at nearby Lakeland College.

UW Oshkosh head coach Matt Lewis is excited to see what his team can accomplish this season. “We have a lot of talent on this team,” he said. “I think we can surprise some people.”

The Titans will open their season on Nov. 1 with an exhibition game against Marian University at Kolf Sports Center. The regular season will begin on Nov. 8 when UW Oshkosh travels to play Saint Norbert College

Pre-Season Preparation

UW Oshkosh Men’s Basketball is back and better than ever! The team has been busy preparing for the upcoming season and working hard to improve their skills. The Titan’s have high hopes for the season and are looking to build upon their success from last year.

In order to prepare for the new season, the team has been practicing hard and working on their weaknesses. They have also been bonding as a team and getting to know each other better. This will help them create a strong sense of camaraderie on the court which will be essential for their success.

The First Game of the Season

UW Oshkosh Men’s Basketball begins their season on November 5th against Marian University. The team is looking to improve upon their 9-19 record from last year and make a run at the conference tournament Head Coach Matt Lewis is entering his 4th season at the helm of the Titans and has brought in several new players that he hopes will help turn the program around.

UW Oshkosh Men’s Basketball will begin their season on Tuesday, November 5th at 7:00 pm. The team has been preparing all off-season and is ready to take on their opponents. They will be playing against UW Stout, who they have a strong rivalry with.
The game will be held in Kolf Sports Center on the UW Oshkosh campus. Admission is free for students with a valid TitanCard. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance through the UW Oshkosh Athletics website.

The Mid-Season Point

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh men’s basketball team is off to a great start this season. Mid-way through the season, they sit at the top of the Conference Standings with a 9-3 record. They have been led by a balanced scoring attack averaging 73.8 points per game which is good for third in the conference. Their defense has been just as good, allowing only 66.5 points per game which is second in the conference.

The team’s success can be attributed to their overall team play. They have eight players averaging at least 20 minutes per game and nine players averaging at least 5 points per game Everyone on the team has contributed in some way to their success.

With half of the season still to be played, the UW Oshkosh men’s Basketball team has a lot to be optimistic about. They have shown that they can compete with anyone in the conference and will look to continue their winning ways in the second half of the season.

The Home Stretch

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh men’s basketball team is on the home stretch of their season, and they are hoping to finish strong. The Titans will be facing a tough opponent in UW Whitewater, who have a record of 25-4. The Warhawks are led by senior guard Kobe Bryant who is averaging 20 points per game Other key players for UW Whitewater include junior forward Chris Paul who is averaging 17 points per game, and senior center Shaquille O’Neal, who is averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds per game

This will be the first meeting between these two teams this season. The winner of this game will advance to the Final Four, which will be held next weekend in Atlanta, Georgia.

The National Championship

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh men’s basketball team is gearing up for a new season and they have their sights set on the National Championship The team is led by Head coach Matt Lewis and assistant coaches Nate Ryken and Brad flow. The team’s captain is senior point guard Joe Riddle.

The Titans are coming off a successful season in which they won the Midwest Conference regular season and Conference Tournament titles. They also received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III tournament, where they advanced to the second round. The Titans are hoping to build on that success this season and make a run at the National Championship

The team will be relying heavily on Riddle to lead the way. He is a two-time All-MWC selection and was named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year last season. He is joined by a cast of talented players, including junior forward Jack Flynn, who was named First Team All-MWC last season, and sophomore guard David Vlotho, who was named MWC Freshman of the Year.

With a talented roster and a championship mentality, the Titans are poised for a Successful Season They will tip off their campaign on November 16th against Concordia University Wisconsin.
