The Kean Men’s basketball team will begin their season on Tuesday, November 5th at 7:00 p.m. against Muhlenberg College. The Cougars will look to avenge their only loss from last season, which came at the hands of Muhlenberg in the Opening Round of the NCAA tournament Kean will then take on Rowan University on November 8th, before beginning a three-game road trip The Cougars will return home on November 21st to take on New Jersey City University.

The Kean men’s basketball team is gearing up for their upcoming season with a strong roster. The team will be led by senior guard Jaleel Blackmon, who was recently named Preseason All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). Blackmon averaged 19.5 points per game last season and is the Cardinals’ All-time leading scorer with 1,758 career points.
Joining Blackmon in the backcourt is junior guard Denzel Goods, who was named First Team All-Conference last season. Goods averaged 16.9 points per game and was one of the top three-point shooters in the conference, making 42.4 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc.

Kean will open up their season at home against St. John Fisher The Fishermen are coming off a tough loss in the conference Championship game last season and will be looking to get back on track this year. Kean should be able to win this game, but it will be a tough test early on in the season.

Leading the team will be senior guard Jordan Young, who averaged 16.5 points per game last season and was named First Team All-New Jersey Athletic Conference He will be joined in the backcourt by fellow senior Dre Perry, who is a defensive wizard that can also provide a scoring punch when needed.
In the frontcourt, junior forwards Tahlik Oliver and Darius Brown will look to build on strong sophomore campaigns. Both players are excellent rebounders and shot-blockers that provide a lot of energy on both ends of the floor. Senior forward Zachary Hershaw rounds out the starting lineup and is a stretch big man that can shoot from long range and open up the lane for his teammates.
