The BYU Men’s baseball team has a few exciting games coming up! Here is the schedule for the next few weeks:

Recent games

The BYU Men’s Baseball Team has recently faced off against several tough opponents. Here is a recap of some of their most recent games:

On March 3rd, the team faced off against the University of Utah. The game was very close, but BYU ultimately lost 6-5.

On March 10th, BYU had a rematch against Utah. This time, BYU came out on top with a score of 3-2.

On March 17th, Brigham Young University took on Gonzaga University. BYU won again, with a final score of 9-3.

As of right now, the BYU Men’s baseball team is in 3rd place in their conference with a record of 15-5.

The BYU Cougars baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, United States The team is a member of the West Coast Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Division I. BYU’s first baseball team was fielded in 1896. The team plays its home games at Larry H. Miller Field, located on campus.

As of the end of the 2019 season, BYU has appeared in three College World Series (1953, 1971 and 1973). It has also won twelve conference championships and six conference tournament championships.

Player stats

The BYU Cougars are led by slugging first baseman Keaton Kringlen, who was named the 2019 West Coast Conference Co-Player of the Year. Kringlen batted .360 with 14 homers and 52 RBIs last season. He finished tied for fourth in the nation in home runs and is the school’s career leader in Slugging percentage (.664). Shortstop Connor Biggio, the son of Hall of Famer Craig Biggio is also back after being named to the All-WCC second team last year. He hit .270 with four homers, 27 RBIs and 20 stolen bases

After a tough loss, the BYU Men’s Baseball Team looks to post-game analysis to improve their future performance. In order to ensure they are making the most of this process, they rely on a few key questions. How did we do? What can we improve? What went well? What do we need to work on?

In order to answer these questions, the team breaks down the game into different phases. They look at everything from pitching and hitting, to fieldwork and Base running By identifying both their successes and areas for improvement, the team can make the adjustments necessary to come out on top in future games.

The BYU Men’s Baseball team will be playing a total of 30 games this season. Here is a preview of some of the key games:

3/1 – vs. Oregon State
This will be the BYU Men’s Baseball team’s first game of the season. They will be playing against Oregon State who is ranked #5 in the nation.

3/8 – vs. UCLA
This will be the BYU Men’s Baseball team’s first Home game of the season. They will be playing against UCLA, who is ranked #14 in the nation.

4/19 – vs. Stanford
This will be the BYU Men’s Baseball team’s first conference game of the season. They will be playing against Stanford, who is ranked #23 in the nation.

Recruiting

The BYU Men’s baseball team has extended their recruiting to International Players in order to increase their skill level. This year, the team has scouted and recruited athletes from Venezuela, the Dominican Republic Puerto Rico and even Australia.

The Cougars have had a great deal of success with international recruiting in recent years In 2018, pitcher Keaton Cenatiempo became the first Australian-born player to be drafted by an MLB team when he was selected in the 10th round by the San Francisco Giants In 2019, pitcher Connor McMullen was selected in the 33rd round by the Milwaukee Brewers becoming just the second Australian-born player to be drafted by an MLB team.

Off-season news

The BYU Men’s Baseball Team has recently announced their schedule for the upcoming season The team will be playing a total of 56 games, with 27 of those being at home and 29 away. The first game is scheduled for February 14th against the University of Utah, and the final game is on May 25th against Gonzaga University.
