Boston College will look to Bounce Back from a disappointing 2019-2020 campaign that saw the Eagles go just 14-17 overall and 7-11 in ACC play.
The Eagles will have a new look this season with several newcomers joining the team. Here’s a look at who’s in and who’s out on the BC Basketball Roster for the 2020-2021 Season

BC Basketball Roster who’s out
With the college Basketball season just around the corner, fans are wondering who will make up the Boston College Eagles roster. Here is a breakdown of who is out and who is in for the upcoming season
Gone from last year’s squad are leading scorer Jerome Robinson, who decided to forego his senior year and declare for the NBA Draft as well as Ky Bowman and Jordan Chatman, both of whom graduated. Incoming recruits include guard Jay Heath, forward Mason Plumlee, and guard Derryck Thornton.
BC Basketball Roster new additions
With the college basketball season rapidly approaching, fans of the Boston College Eagles are clamoring to find out who will be donning the maroon and gold this year. Head Coach Jim Christian has finalized his roster for the 18-19 season and there are a few new names that fans will want to familiarize themselves with.
Leading the charge of incoming talent is Ky Bowman, a 6’1” guard from Havelock, North Carolina Bowman comes to BC after spending two years at UNLV, where he averaged 14.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game He will have to sit out this season due to NCAA transfer rules, but he will be eligible to suit up for the Eagles in 2019-20.
Joining Bowman in the backcourt is Jared Hamilton, a 6’4” guard from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Hamilton played his first two collegiate seasons at Iowa State before transferring to BC. He was granted a waiver by the NCAA that will allow him to play immediately for the Eagles this season. In 32 games (six starts) for Iowa State last year, Hamilton averaged 3.4 points and 1.1 assists in 11.4 minutes per game.
Up front, Christian has added two players who should provide some immediate help in the post: Simonas Kymantas and Nik Popovic. Kymantas is a 7-footer from Vilnius, Lithuania who most recently played for Canarias Basketball Academy in Spain’s Canary Islands League 2nd Division. Popovic is a 6’11” center from Belgrade, Serbia who comes to BC after spending last season at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). He will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Eagles.
BC basketball roster departures
As the college basketball season gets underway, there are some big changes to the Boston College roster. Here are the major departures from last year’s team.
Guards Eli Carter and Davon Reed have both graduated. Carter was BC’s leading scorer last season, averaging 15 points per game Reed was a key player off the bench, averaging 6 points and 3 rebounds per game
Forwards Connar Tava and Mo Jeffers have also graduated. Tava was BC’s starting Power Forward averaging 11 points and 6 rebounds per game Jeffers saw limited action off the bench, averaging 2 points per game
Center Garland Owens has transferred to another school. Owens was BC’s starting center last season, averaging 7 points and 5 rebounds per game.
BC Basketball Roster analysis
As the college basketball season comes to a close, we take a look at the Boston College Eagles’ roster and see who will be returning next season and who will be leaving.
The Eagles have had a strong season, finishing with a record of 22-8. They will be looking to continue their success next season, but will have to do so without some Key Players who are graduating or leaving for other opportunities.
Leading scorer Ky Bowman will be leaving for the NBA Draft as well as starting center Nik Popovic. These two departures will leave a big hole in the Eagles’ offense, which will need to be filled by other players on the roster.

The Boston College basketball team has undergone some changes since last season. Several new players have been added to the roster, while some familiar faces have departed. Here’s a look at how the Eagles’ roster shapes up for the upcoming season

BC Basketball Roster impact of departures
The Boston College Eagles men’s Basketball team will look noticeably different next season, as seven members of the 2018-19 roster have departed.
Headlining the departures is Ky Bowman, who announced his intention to declare for the NBA draft following his junior season. A two-time All-ACC performer and one of the best players in school history, Bowman averaged 19.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game last season. He will certainly be missed, but his departure opens up opportunities for other players on the roster.
Other significant departures include:
• Jordan Chatman (16.6 ppg, 3.3 rpg), who graduated and will play professionally overseas;
• Nik Popovic (12.3 ppg, 6.3 rpg), who also graduated and will play professionally overseas;
• Wynston Tabbs (11.4 ppg, 2.8 rpg), who tore his ACL in January and will miss the 2019-20 season
• John Cahill (1.8 ppg, 0.9 rpg), who is transferring to another school;
• Ian Sistare (0.7 ppg, 0.3 rpg), who is also transferring to another school; and
• Will Baker (did not appear in a game last season), who has left the program but remains enrolled at BC
