The Schedule

The 2017-18 Charlotte 49ers men’s Basketball Schedule has been released. The schedule is highlighted by fourteen home games including four games against ACC opponents and a return trip to Madison Square Garden to face St. John’s.

The Coaches

The Charlotte 49ers Men’s basketball team is coached by Mark Price who is in his fourth season with the program. Prior to coaching the 49ers, Price was an assistant coach at the University of Alabama He has also held coaching positions at Vanderbilt University and the University of South Carolina

The team’s assistant coaches are Michael Bucy, who is in his first season with the Charlotte 49ers, and Rob Moxley, who is in his second season with the team.

The Conference is the Charlotte 49ers men’s Basketball team The 49ers compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Head Coach is Ron Sanchez. The 49ers play their home games at Halton Arena on the campus of UNC Charlotte.

The Charlotte 49ers Men’s basketball team has some of the most passionate and dedicated fans in the country. Known as the “Green Army”, these fans travel with the team all over the country to support their favorite players

The Venue

The Charlotte 49ers men’s basketball team plays its home games at the Dale F. Halton Arena, located on the campus of UNC Charlotte. The arena opened in 2005 and has a capacity of 9,105. It is named after former UNC Charlotte chancellor James Moeser and his wife, Dale, who made a $1 million donation to the school’s athletics program.

The History

The Charlotte 49ers men’s basketball team represents the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in NCAA Division I basketball. The 49ers are a member of Conference USA and play their home games at the Dale F. Halton Arena. The 49ers are currently coached by Houston Texans assistant Mark Price.

The men’s Basketball Program began in 1965 as a Division II independent school. They joined the Sun Belt Conference in 1980, and moved to Division I in 1985. In 1987, they became a charter member of the Big South Conference In 1996, they left the Big South for Conference USA In 2013, they left Conference USA for the Atlantic 10 Conference. In 2017, they returned to Conference USA after one season in the A-10.

The 49ers have appeared in four NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournaments 1977, 2002, 2005, and 2011. Their combined record is 3–4. They have also appeared in two National Invitation Tournaments: 1986 and 2001. Their combined record is 1–2.

The Future

The Charlotte 49ers men’s basketball team represents the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in NCAA Division I basketball competition. The 49ers are a member of Conference USA. The 49ers have appeared in 5 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournaments Their best showing was in 1977, when they defeated the heavily favored Michigan State Spartans 77-76 in the first round, before losing to eventual National Champion Marquette in the second round. The Charlotte 49ers have also appeared in the National Invitation Tournament three times, with their best showing coming in 2013, when they reached the quarterfinals before losing to eventual tournament champion Baylor.
