Haughton High School Baseball How to Prepare for Season
It’s that time of year again! Spring is in the air and baseball season is just around the corner. If you’re a player on the Haughton high school varsity baseball team, then you know that means it’s time to start preparing for the season. Here are a few things you can do to make sure you’re ready to take the field:
1. Get in shape. This one is obvious, but it’s worth mentioning. Baseball is a physically demanding sport so it’s important to be in peak physical condition before the season starts Start working out now and you’ll be thanking yourself come game time
2. Practice, practice, practice. They say that practice makes perfect, and that’s especially true when it comes to baseball. The more you practice, the better you’ll be when it comes time to compete. Make sure you set aside some time each day to work on your hitting, pitching, and fielding.
3. Study up on the competition. Knowing your opponents is half the battle in baseball. Take some time to research the other teams in your division and learn everything you can about them. What’s their strengths? What’s their weaknesses? How do they typically fare against teams like yours? The more information you have, the better equipped you’ll be to lead your team to victory.
4. Get mentally tough. Baseball is a Mental Game as much as it is a physical one. If you want to succeed on the diamond, then you need to be mentally tough enough to handle whatever comes your way. When things get tough during a game – and they will – stay focused and don’t let anything rattle you . . . no matter what happens..
5 Have fun! Remember, at the end of the day, baseball is just a game. It should be fun! So relax and enjoy yourself out there on the field – good luck!
